You would rather finish 6th than 2nd? Wow.
Or are you actually saying an Arsenal side that hasn't played a single competitive match is better than Utd? Either way, this must be your first pre season.
You're so desperate to defend Utd that your posts are painful to read Shami and I genuinely don't mean that in a ****take or snidey way. He didn't say he'd rather finish 6th than 2nd, he didn't even say Arsenal were better than Man Utd. He said he'd rather watch Arsenal than Man Utd.
Yes, Utd finished 2nd, above Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal but given what he's spent and the squad he has, Mourinho should be finishing in the top 2 positions and if it is only 2nd, he should be a hell of a lot closer to City and given the football that City are playing and even sides finishing a few points below Utd, on smaller budgets, he should be doing so playing far more entertaining football too. Finishing 2nd, a mile behind the side you're meant to be challenging, all while playing drab football is not an achievement no matter how much Mourinho tells you it is.
Mourinho is in the same boat as Pulis and Allardyce - supporters don't want them managing their side but they tolerate them for a period, while they're getting results. After a while it becomes tiresome though and it's even worse when they're not achieving what the supporters hope and expect. Whilst results are hugely important, football is meant to be fun - it shouldn't be about meeting minimum requirements through boring football, all while telling supporters they're lucky to be in this situation.
It's no secret that I can't stand Mourinho and it's not just because I woke up and decided that I don't like him. Prior to even Fergie retiring I'd always said that Utd wouldn't appoint Mourinho because of everything we're seeing now. He has proven himself to be, without doubt, an exceptional manager in terms of getting short term results however it comes at a price. Without wanting to be overly dramatic, Mourinho is a cancer that destroys clubs. Mourinho only cares about himself and everything he says and does is for the benefit of Mourinho, not Utd - he will throw anybody and everybody under the bus to defend himself from criticism. The man spent 15(?) minutes throwing the entire football club and it's history under the bus to defend himself from criticism after being beat by Sevilla!
Is there any Utd fans that is genuinely looking forward to the coming season with any real optimism? Just like Stoke, WBA, West Ham & Everton (under Pulis & Allardyce) shouldn't go into a season believing the best they can hope for is 17th place, playing terrible football, Utd supporters shouldn't be going into this season believing 2nd, playing drab football is the best they can hope for too and I get the feeling that is the best Utd supporters are hoping for right now.
