The joys of Hermes Courier

1.) What has it got to do with the seller ? Do you want him to take it back and claim the refund ?

2.) Why did you accept the package in that state in the first place if it looked like that ????

3.) You haven't told us what method of postage/Insurance you agreed on - or whether the seller stated how he would post it.

4.) Was the package left outside your house ?

All these questions need answered before we can come back with the usual "Cool story Bro" - "Get the cops involved" - "Scammers everywhere on ebay" - "Poor quality photos" GD responses....

Inform the seller include said pictures showing the damage seller *should refund you when they get it back from you at your cost* he then claims from hermes.

Thats how it should go and not be a huge annoyance for you. IF he plays the game and gives you any crap open the case on ebay and you will be fine.

Did you refuse to sign for the package or note that it was damaged on delivery?

1) The item was badly packed whichever way you look at it, keys dont just fall off like that for nowt.

2) I weren't in to accept it, my Mum signed for it. The delivery driver had her arms wrapped round the tell tale signs

3) I dont know what was used, the seller arranged the courier?

4) N/A

I'm awaiting the sellers response.

That looks like it was delivered by the gods. I would never have accepted a package in that state.

Dont worry about it bud if he gives you any problems you file the claim on ebay they will tell you to send it back for a refund and then its the sellers problem to claim from the courior .

I know the seller can demand I send it back before they refund, but what if I do and I don't get issued with a refund?

Am I not within my right to demand a refund before returning to the seller? I mean I've spent enough as it is, and look at what it got me :/

Pretty sure even if going through with a paypal case etc on ebay they tell you to send it back first for the refund but paypal hold the funds from the sellers account to make sure you get it and at the very worst pay you if he does a runner then they chase the seller so either way you should be good.

Send it using parcel2go for a cheap courier.

Seller's return policy for this item
The seller doesn't accept returns for this item, but we encourage you to contact the seller first. If you can't reach an agreement, we're happy to help.

Is that just standard eBay wording?

Yes. A no return policy only applies to those who want to return a perfectly good item because they do not want it. It doesn't override the fact you should get your items as described.

Originally it was a collection only item from B'ham, but I couldn't make it due to my Car not being fit for long journeys last week. So the seller offered to ship via Hermes, it made me feel sick when that was the offer on the table. I know Yodel aren't the best, but I've never had any bother with them.

Hermes = Scum

Even though it looks like Hermes are mostly to blame here, the contents of the box should have been bubble wrapped, then the rest of the box packed out with crumpled up newspaper or air pockets or something to stop everything rattling around. At least if the contents are well packed, if the box get's a knock or two and some holes the contents should still be safe. Some sellers just don't think about transit.

Hope you get sorted ok, but I can't see you having a problem. It looks like a fairly straightforward case.

I can hold Hermes partially blame here like you said but the seller is still partially to blame also because there was no bubble wrap or paper used, the keyboard was just wedged between the stacks of boxed games, and there were 29 of those inside too. The power supply was sat over the top of the unit, as was a gamepad.

Sucks really, I always maintain a high standard of packaging on sales made, shame others can't. :( Cos once an item is gone, I don't wanna see it again :p

Oh finally she replied.

hi , thankyou for letting me know about this , i am absolutely disgusted this seems to of happened during transport because the parcel left my house in mint condition and so did the items inside it , i am getting in touch with myhermes to complain about this as it looks like they have thrown the parcel around , i just wish personal collection had of happened instead as everything was in complete working order . how would you like us to resolve this in the best way possible for you ?
at this moment in time i can only apologise for the usless service from myhermes .
kind regards

lol because Jurassic Park was in there

So when I was asked what would I like to do next?

I simply said, what can you offer? Place an offer on the table.

No reply as of yet....
