"The Kitten Killer of Hangzhou"

I'm not going to look for them because I know I'd find them and then I wouldn't sleep properly.

I saw a video of someone blowing up a west highland terrier once and I nearly cried. Beh.

It's strange, but i can watch all the Iraq clips with human suffering and death but when it comes to animals, I just cannot really watch them. I recently saw a video of US Soldiers shooting a defenseless stray dog for fun. It sickened me more than the the beheading videos.

Me too. I think it's because I perceive animals as entirely innocent and lacking in the ability to intentionally commit an act which I would define as 'wrong'. They are totally helpless and don't understand the world to the extent that we do.

If I witnessed such an act of animal cruelty in person I don't think I'd be able to control myself. I'd do my very best to injure or kill the perpetrator(s).

Just watching the first 10 seconds of the mentioned kitten video had me enraged.

I was just talking to my bf about this. it sickens me to see animals being hurt in any way but i don't feel anything when i see human cruelty (unless its babies) I can't stand the thought of something that can't properly fend for itself being hurt by someone thats supposed to look after it! :(

I feel ill just thinking about that. Most people are more disgusted by pain and torture in children and animals, because they are dependent on those who are hurting them. That doesn't actually make it any worse than all of the other awful things going on in this world.

suggest she is found and has nails driven into every living partical of her being

its weird but i think i think its down to horror films and videos games myself, i mean how often do you see innocent animals killed in these mediums, not very often at all yet we are always watching people getting killed in films and in games and what, i think im desensatised when it comes to things like that, i can let it not affect me but if it was a cat getting killed (massive cat lover i am) i would 99% break down if i saw something terrible happen to it

People call this sick, yet they gleefully splat spiders with rolled up newspapers....

Sure, because killing a spider instantaneously is in the same league as driving a stiletto heel through a kitten multiple times.

It's also worth noting that spiders, as invertebrates, probably can't actually feel pain anyway.

Well at least the spider died quickly, without having to prolong any pain.

I got my hands on the thing that does this to animals, I would happily drop her in a room filled with 5 foot of cow dung and let her rot.

Well I for one don't, I tend to pick them up or get them on a bit of paper or something and put them out the back door. I mean I even get annoyed with myself if I accidently step on a snail in the garden! :(

I was watching Prison Break on C5 the other night (good programme) and there was a bit where the Main Guard asks this prisoner (who has a pet cat) who he's "mates" with if he knows who it is that murdered one of the guards in the prison riot. The man declines to tell him, saying you know what happens to prisoners who snitch on others. The Guard basically says "if you don't tell me then that'll be the end of our friendship", and says "that's a lovely cat" as he walks out (planning something evil to get back at him). The prisoner comes back from having a shower a while later to find his cat laying dead on his bed, and the prisoner bursts into tears. Even that bought a lump to my throat! The prisoner gets him back later on though. ;)

Pretty sickening stuff but im sure its nothing new as i remember a few years ago, the borough i live in...the local newsrag had a warning for cat owners in the borough..saying that theres been a spate of random cat killings :( and the police were investigating this as a few local cats had heads chopped off or bit of their bodies chopped off...it was pretty sick stuff. Definitely made me worry about my cat as he used to stay out all night and a few times we didnt see him for a day or 2. But luckily he alway came home though, sadly he got run over a few yrs ago but it was an accident.

Update here.

(Looks as thought this is all from a few weeks ago)

They have found her, she's been hounded out of her job, it's part of some gruesome webring, it's not illegal in China, per se.

Ick.

Me too. Sickening.

My OH said he'd heard of stuff like this and a 'crushing' fetish a couple of years ago when he was at school. Just the new 'lows' that people take it to are disgusting. Unfortunately discussing it and making more people aware of it are feeding their attention seeking egos. Same as the beheadings of 'prisoners'. If no-one watched/publicised it there'd be no point in doing it.

However, if people don't know about it, they're powerless to stop it. Vicious circle.
