I really want to like this album, because I loved the first one and I really like the lead singers voice. But I just can't. It's cack. Sad face.

What do you think?

same as you, i wanted to like it, but i just cant really. I listened to see the sun(track 1) and thought, fantastic...sounds like good old kooks, then mr maker sounded quite a happy summery tune. Then after that, most of the songs seem to sound bland and the same. Stand out tunes after number 3 are sway(track 8) and tick of time(track 12) but apart from that im very dissapointed. Lyrically, its pretty awful!

Oh that reminds me of when we were free'' for example on one last time, pretty dire lyrics...

it'd be lucky to get 5/10 from me

Thought it was ok, not as good as the first album, but then again I didnt like that on first listen but it grew on me the warmer it got

might be another summer album.

I bought Forward Russia's new album instead. The Kooks have just taken too long to release something, and by the sounds of it, it's turd anyway.

Its not anywhere near as good as the first one but im gonna keep listening to this album. Its certainly a grower for me ands im picking up a liking for it pretty quickly

A solid meh from me tbh - some decent tunes but not overly impressed. Might turn out to be a grower though.

i might give this album a try but tbh, i loved the 1st one, i was really into them, then i went to see them at an intimate gig..and they were truly awful.
There was only my fav song - see the world that was any good.. you dont love me wasnt too bad, the rest were really dire, i was gutted beyond belief at how bad they were live.
What made it worse was them being plastered all over the tv a few weeks later for what seemed like an eternity, and every radio station and bar playing their music.

Got a copy of it today and I quite like it, granted I haven't heard the first album though so couldn't say how it compares.

Definatelty a meh form me, first 2 songs are alright, the rest are just a bit boring...

Just listening to it now, nothing particularly bad about it, just nothing that jumps out and grabs like the last album.

Just been listening to it, I think it'll be a grower. See The Sun is a good one.
