I was turned off this film when I heard it was Smith's son. Surely there are better random actors out there who need a break? Sigh.

To be fair to the kid, neither can a lot of the stars of the martial arts movie genre. Especially the ones that have come from the East - they made a huge volume of films relying pretty much solely on their technical abilities.

You know from that trailer I will probably watch it, but they shouldnt call it karate kid! That plot has little similarity to the original's. They should call it "karate boy" or something totally different and leave karate kid alone.

Gone are the white boy bullies and now replaced by Chinese, well yeah they are in China so no ****ing surprise.

And why called "Karate" when it's in China? Granted that Karate does have some origins from China, but to keep the name, what the hell?

but atleast they are really good martial arts experts.

So it's called The Karate Kid, when it's clearly Kung Fu, and it looks terrible.

I'll probably still watch it, but unless it has the awesome "Your the best, around" tune in it, I'll be disappointed
