And it might be better longer term to use it placed on a desk but to sometimes use a laptop on your lap should be perfectly safe.

Deadly, I know a bloke who knows a bloke who lives next door to a blokes who is the dustman for this guy who melted his mini me & exploded when all his wee backed up, I'd never use a laptop on my lap.

Attach a mobile phone to your ear using duct tape. This way the radiations don't know whether to attack your groin or your earholes and effectively cancel each other out.

The only way it could be dangerous is if you're lying down and the laptop is all the way up near your pelvis.

Skin and clothing could prevent adequate ventilation. I suppose that's the main issue. Depends where the vents are situated.
