i think i turned off my computer last night by going into hibernation. now, when i turn on my computer today i get the message

The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to restart again?

Delete restoration date and proceed to system boot menu
Continue with system restart
when i try to select one of the options nothing happens so i cant press enter or go up and down between options (i can access the bios though)
i've googled the problem and i saw one solution involved plugging in a non usb keyboard..however nobody i know has one and i dont really want to buy one before looking into other options.

i've loaded fail safe defaults and changed boot order
when i change boot order i get the error 'NTLDR IS MISSING'
so i change things back to how they were. i've taken out the mother board battery and put it back but nothing has worked. i also dont have a windows disk (i can't currently afford to buy a new one either)

so.. any help? thanks

Don't the options have an automatic count-down?

What is your motherboard? You can probably enable BIOS/Legacy USB control instead of OS (in the BIOS), allowing you to use the USB keyboard to select an option.

oh yes i saw this option and thought it sounded useful. but was a bit scared because i didn't know what would happen. i'll give it a go now.

ps its an abit ip350 if i remember correctly

also there is no countdown it just stays at that screen

edit. BINGO! windows is resuming.. a bit slowly but hopefully its sorted
thanks. should i avoid using hibernate in the future?
