So what's the last game you couldn't complete and why? A particularly frustrating process if everyone is saying how great the game is. :p

RDR2 - it just feels so painfully slow and aimless.

Control - The Mr Tomassi level just leaves me so frustrated as I can't get past it, even on easy!

Far Cry New Dawn. I've come to the conclusion that I'm done with all Ubisoft games. Their formulaic approach to game design bores me. Also, Yakuza 0; I stomached 3 hours then couldn't be bothered with it.

Every game I've played in the last decade or so
I always get near the end and forget, or pick up so many games I never finish any

Had to force myself to complete RDR 2 this weekend, a great game is in there but it drags on and on and on.

Witcher 3, another good game but the combat and corny accented dialogue bores me SO much, especially the spinny moves and Geralt's stupid 'badass' American accent in an historical fantasy setting. Got all the way to Skellige and just couldn't watch the canned fighting animations any more. Just done with it.

I forced myself to complete Witcher 2 which dragged terribly so won't do it again with 3. But am very much looking forward to Cyberpunk letting you choose your own character and combat style.

Red Dead Redemption 2 = Bored.
The last Doom, again got very bored with it.
Horizon Zero D, again bored.

Loads of games lately I've started, got a few minutes in and put them down because of poor controls or other clunkiness - bread and butter mechanics and actions, etc. should be seamless like wearing a glove. Some games just boring and I've had no motivation to get into them as well.

One frustration as well is just how many games have hardcoded split X any Y mouse sensitivity multipliers (which means that if you move the mouse in a circular motion physically your viewport moves around in an oval shape) which from years of playing games that do it properly messes with my muscle memory and would be annoying to get used to a game that did that and then trying to go back to games that do it properly so I just don't play them.

"RDR2 - it just feels so painfully slow and aimless."

Same. No real momentum.

I felt the same with Witcher 3 but went back to it and it is now probably my favourite game of all time. Should probably give RDR another go.

Other recent ish failures:

Fallout 4 - boring
Outer worlds - just never found time to get back into it
Diablo 3
Subnautica - got near the end and couldn't be bothered with the grind once I looked up the ending

Pretty much this.

Also, do you class a game as completed after finishing the main storyline, or do you need to have done every side mission, all collectables, visited all areas/hidden areas.

The latter part can drag a game on for significantly longer.

That's why with the limited time i get these days i prefer to play something like BFV. There's no game to "complete" per se. Just log on, have a few rounds and then off again.

The last Deus Ex. Mainly uncompleted as my ancient 10 year old laptop was rendering it as a series of postcards :(

Too many to name but I tried few hours of outer worlds and that was it, just didn't enjoy it that much it was a fancier fallout and actually ran okay but yet I didn't go back.

Game isn't even bad either I just didn't click with it for some reason

I tend to do that on work days. Get home, play a bit of MtG:Arena for the dailies and then a bit of something I can pick up and put down at the drop of a hat. Lots of Endless Space in that regard lately
Games with too much side stuff I find I invest myself fully in doing the side content, then I get bored because the story isn't progressing because obviously I haven't touched it. The main reason I couldn't enjoy BotW, I spent days doing challenges and hunting down hidden treasure and don't think I actually did any of the main story

You may as well go back to it. You could have all the content clear in one sitting

FarCry5. Repetitive and boring. Uninstalled after 5 hours lol.

I actually pushed through and finished Farcry 5 but somewhat regret having done so, you definitely did the right thing by dropping it.

It was just infuriatingly repetitive at times, and don't get me started on the 'forced events' where you're kidnapped after every other mission. Getting shot with an arrow that incapacitates you for one of the forced and unavoidable events while flying around in a plane hundreds of feet in the air is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever had to deal with in a game.

I don't understand why they added RPG elements to it. It's not how the series originally started, but typical Ubi decided to try and squeeze out everything for playtime.
Utter trash.
