From the makers of Ico and Shadow of the Collosus comes a new tale in the form of The Last Guardian. It's slated to be released this year. It was first revealed at E3 2009 but since then little was heard about the game until this week. Famitsu, a leading Japanese games news agency got some hands of with it.

I'm looking forward to this game and hope it will be as great as Shadow of the Collosus.
 
ICO is a great game. The Last Guardian is my only hope! I'm tired of shooting and killing games, give me a game that gives me a nice "peace and love the world feeling" not one that has me headshotting as many people as possible.

LOL I dno what planet you are on but the vast majority of pre-orders only get charged at dispatch - also I have it at a far lower price than youll get now...

Just reminded me i also have this preordered! Just checked and it says £32.95 but as a hidden preorder :confused: hope it's not been cancelled!

On a different note, does anyone know if Ico/SotC is still on for a Spring release? Someone told me it was delayed till Sept
 
this is the only console game i actually want to play, loved ico and sotc on ps2, hope this is just as great the videos certainly look that way.
 
I'm waiting for the oft rumoured Ico/SotC HD re-release a la God of War and the upcoming Sly Cooper compalations.

As for this game I'm going to wait until release to see if it's worth getting. Provided my PS3 lasts that long.

Two reasons:

1- Most retailers don't charge until they ship your preorder
2- If pseudo is like me, he's preordered at a store the honour preorder prices. This place had incredibly cheap release prices for PS3 games (around £30) about a year ago. The same games are now closer to £40, but as i've preordered i'll still be getting the original price.
 
Just read this on Kotaku

Sad news out of Sony tonight, as Team Ico boss Fumito Ueda sends word that his studio's upcoming PS3 game The Last Guardian, along with the HD re-releases of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, have all been delayed.

The Ico/SotC collection was originally supposed to be out this Spring. Last Guardian, meanwhile, was supposed to be out "Holiday/Winter". No new dates, or even release windows, have been provided, but this must surely mean that Last Guardian has slipped to 2012.
Ueda has penned an apology to disappointed fans, which reads:

I announced at last year's Tokyo Game Show that the release timing of The Last Guardian which is currently being developed would be holiday 2011.
However, to provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfill First Party Studio's obligations, I decided to postpone its release timing.
All the members of my production team are working together at a fast pace to develop and release the game in First Party Studio quality.
I sincerely apologize to all the customers who have been waiting for "The Last Guardian" for so long, but I beg for your patience. I will also announce the new release timing at a later time.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do me a favour and check your pre-order - I think mines gone up to £39 but obviously I preordered donkeys ago when it was more like £33. Just checking Im not making this up...

This is with shopto - seems they screwed up both my preorder prices for TLG and Batman Arkham City!

Same happened to me.
If that was from Shopto then you need to get in contact with them, they did an accidental price botch a couple months back, then when they reset the price it was to the current price, not the original pre-order price as per their guarantee.
If you still have the original pre-order confirmation email, then send it to them and they'll fix it straight away.
 
Yeah I have done - the annoying thing is if I checked it 10mins ago I could have preordered and bought Batman Arkham City for £8! That error seems to have been fixed but had knock-on issues with my other preorder prices (seems their system just picks up the latest price and not the price you ordered at).

Ive raised a few tickets once I worked out the old prices...
