Columbus Day (Expeditionary Force series) by Craig Alanson.
15 books are planned, 13 are out (all on Kindle Unlimited).
I understand the audible versions are great too.

Series about humans being brought into an interstellar war. Its run of the mill stuff until about half way through book 1 when an ancient AI gets involved and then you get scenes of mild peril etc.. (I'm keeping this deliberately vague)
A lot is set in space but I wouldn't really class it as Sci fi per se.
