The lazy sunday

My Sunday consisted of not sleeping properly, got called into work 3 hours early just as I was starting to get to sleep, dealing with an uncooperative colleague which was a slightly confrontational situation, on the plus side did get everything sorted and able to leave 45 minutes early - couple of nights back one of my colleagues managed to get a work van stuck in a farmer's field and it took 3 hours for recovery to get to him only to then decide they needed a different vehicle due to the terrain which meant another 90 minutes so I ended up leaving work nearly 3 hours late :s (on the plus side that is 5 hours I'll get paid at a higher rate for).

Been awhile since I've had a lazy Sunday.

I used to always have a slight feeling of dread on a Sunday, but now I work a 4-day week that has disappeared.

I can't remember the last time I did "nothing" on a weekend. Whilst I do miss it I often feel like it's a waste doing nothing so it becomes a fleeting feeling.

For example this sunday I was up at 6am to take my neighbours to the airport (they're friends really). Then made breakfast when I got home for the family. Took my eldest to Tae Kwon Do.

Did a bit of gardening with the youngest when I got home.

Made lunch for the family.

Then prepared dinner for the slow cooker.

Played with the kids for an hour or so (just silly fun).

Did a little housework that needed doing (dishwasher / tidying kitchen etc...)

Then just pottered around a bit doing bits and pieces.

Finished dinner off. Tidied up the dining room and kitchen.

Played with the kids a little before bath time and bed.

Then spent an hour watching squid games with the wife, then went to bed with a book.

Middle age rocks! :D

No gym on Sundays for me - it's the one day where I can spend more time with the family so I cherish that more - I can go to the gym during the week.

I just struggle with doing nothing - I find it makes me feel anxious just wasting the day! Too many hobbies and things to do sees to that I'm not bored! :D

Ban, TIAM. Enjoy your long break from OCUK.

I mitch from the rest of my family ever other Sunday to race toy cars so our Sundays together tend to be full on.

However, we took the kids out on the bikes Saturday and burned them out a bit. Did near enough nothing yesterday. Cleaned two of the cars and made ramen for tea :)

I spent my Sunday in the bottom of a disused quarry scratching around climbing with ice axes and crampons.

I am extremely content being middle aged with no kids, can do what I want!

Looking back on said lazy sunday... Roll on retirement only 15 years to go maybe less if the markets pick up.
