The Leicester City Story NBC Sports.

This was pretty good, a nice reminder of their run. I bet we'll get a lot more of these is they manage to win it :p

TBH I'll probably buy it, even though the 'big' teams have all faulted this season it's still amazing considering that Leicester had only just come up and were nailed on for relegation at the back end of last season.

What will it do for the club if they win it? Football is different now to back when Blackburn won it once.

It'll be a huge achievement but I can't see what it will give the club apart from some more money and attention, I still don't think they'll be able to attract big names to compete the top four in the coming seasons.

There is no such thing as the "Top Four" any more. The premier league is far too competitive. The problem for Leicester will be "bigger" clubs trying to poach their players. If they can keep their core over the summer and buy wisely (They have money) there is no reason why they can not compete next season.

I remember when Blackburn won the title and all their best players were poached which then led to their relegation 4 years later!

Watched this last night, really good and amusing how the pudits are so fickle, having Leicester for the drop at the start of the season, to potential champions.

I can't wait for the official Leicester 2015-16 DVD :)

I think it will make a massive difference from where they have been historically however as Leicester ("Lie-Chester") are now a household name overseas. They would have CL football which is a big draw, I think if they wanted to beef up their squad it would give them the clout to do that.

Yes perhaps not quite the short term draw that MU/MC/Chelsea/Arsenal have but it would only take a couple of years of competing at the top end for that to change. If they have another good season next year then their reputation will start to firm up and people could start taking them seriously. Same applies for Spurs or indeed any other team that reaches those heights - in recent history those type of opportunities have just never arisen because since Blackburn over 20 years ago, only 4 clubs have won the league.

Ranieri seems such a cool guy, I really hope he wins it. Would be an amazing justice for all the tinkerman stick he's taken over the years.

A old friend of mine who works for NBC SN as a commentator for premier league games is a MASSIVE Leicester fan. I wonder how much input he had into putting this film together (he's actually in it too 22:30)? Brilliant film and a brilliant story. I would love Leicester to win this now and to be fair I can't see anyone catching them. I love how down to earth and calm Ranieri is too. Nice bloke.

Football league FFP, so the stuff in that article wouldn't affect their Premier League points total etc. They could get fined by the football league, like QPR... but QPR's fine was massively reduced from what it could have been, iirc.
It opens up litigation from other clubs, who were perhaps not promoted as a result from the Championship but also clubs who were relegated from the Premiership.

It could get very messy for them.

Is that the case, or have the clubs basically given up the right to do so because it's the football league's job to rule on such matters/apply the appropriate sanctions/etc? If the football league do that properly/within the rules, can other clubs also sue?
West Ham had to pay out £10s of millions to other clubs if I remember correctly after they were sued by them over the Tevez/Mascherrano affair as it was argued it affected relegation from the league which caused financial damage to the other clubs.

Edit: West Ham settled out of court, paying Sheffield Utd £20m over 5 years

After the Premier League didn't dock them points. Has anyone sued QPR because of their breach of FFP? I don't recall that happening... I presume because everyone's basically signed up to the football league and have to follow their internal rules... whereby with FFP breaches it's done the way it's done, almost certainly in part because of the West Ham debacle.
That definitely won't extend to the club that was relegated in Leicester's place last year who will quite easily be able to show in a court of law that they suffered financial damage as a result. The clubs in the Football League would also expect compensation depending on the actions of the FL following investigation assuming they are found guilty - I would expect the sanctions for a club found to have deliberately attempted to cheat the FFP rules to be the severest possible.

How could a club which would have been relegated anyway be able to show a loss? Villa this year are getting relegated regardless of what happens in the Championship/whichever clubs get promoted. If x club who broke the rules or y club which didn't are promoted, the same happens to Villa.
They would be able to show damages as a result of Leicester deliberately breaking the rules (assuming they're found guilty of such) and thus being so called financially doped, even in the season that Leicester escaped relegation.
