If ME goes back to generally speaking everything about the first game, story, slightly better/more character options, HUGELY better inventory(not ui)/armour/gun rpg feel to it. Rather than what were decreasing and pointless armour/gun options. The only problem with the first game was realistically the sheer number of weapons/ammo types and frankly the rather bland 58 versions of 10 different guns. DA2 went the same way with crap armour/weapon options in general, little in the way of party armour/weapon options in both games.
ME1/DA:O were far better story wise, stat/progression wise and item/armour/weapon wise. I just hope the backlash against the direction they went with both games makes them run straight back to the style of the first games. I don't have a huge amount of hope but I have a tiny little bit of hope that someone at EA/Bioware realises that better games = more people trying them, worse games = appealing to a few more crap gamers, and alienating the majority of those who bought the previous games.
As for not buying a frostbite based game again Rroff, it's too easy to point at a game and suggest it's all the engines fault. Game implementation is about far more than the engine it uses. For every engine I can think of we've seen great, and horrendous games. BF4 is one implementation of the engine, and it has flaws, that doesn't mean someone else can't make a flawless game with the same engine.
The main issue I have with the Frostbite engine as it stands, is like so many it was designed to be more of a last gen compatible engine, not a more "proper" next gen engine. I was mightily disappointed when I finally loaded up BF4 and was absolutely not at all blown away by the graphics. Some of the really next gen engines/games coming up look on a completely different level.
unfortunately I can see why EA in particular, but games like ME would really be aiming at all platforms rather than just next gen and PC. Only a few games are aiming squarely at pc/next gen for the next year or so, couple years from now Frostbite might actually make a ground up sensible next gen engine and a working Bf5............. possibly, I give it a 12% chance
