The longest interview in the world!

Sounds like a geeky job, and you sound like the perfect geek! hehe :D

good luck dude. Did they give you food and drink in this 5hrs? christ they shoulda paid you a wage for all the info you gave em!

Sounds like the interview went really well, congrats! Good luck with getting the job too, sounds like a fantastic position to be in.

The last interview I had was at a small company. Every Friday afternoon they shut up shop at 4pm and broke out the beer and nibbles and had a bit of a party. My interview ended at around 3.45 so they asked me to stick around for the party! Went pretty well and got the job - still here 17 years later :) A bit too big for parties every week though :(

Once had 6 interviews with one company, and was invited for my 7th when I said enough's enough. On 3 seperate occassions I went for a job with them, got through the initial interview fine, likewise with the second, then got the usual "Sorry Mike, we were really impressed with you but we've filled the position internally. If we could have two people....." crap. When they rang me up for the fourth round of this I said "no" in no uncertain terms. I couldn't help but feel they were stringing me along in order to satisfy some legal requirement that they advertise positions externally, and never had any intention of bringing anyone in from outside the company. Must have spent about £100 on fuel going back and forth to that place, and lost nearly a week's holiday in time off taken to attend interviews for a job I never had a chance of getting.

Sorry, rant over. Good luck though, and I hope I don't jinx it by stating that IMHO, it's in the bag.

I don't mind if that guy gets it before me tbh though, he was made redundant from his current job and probably needs this job as he will have bills to pay etc where as I am just trying to move into london and have no ties.... So I kinda feel guilty if I get it.

Didn't read all your post but that bit caught my eye.

Don't be lame: not minding if someone else gets the job ahead of you?! Feeling guilty if you get it?!?! FFS.:confused:

I had a 1hr interview then went for an assessment day which included interviews and tests, with people watching you all the time noting you behaviour/reaction. My god i've never sweated so much in my life 9-5. Got the job though and was apparently the favourite for it :D

Aero

p.s to the op goodluck!

Update my fellow clockers :)

I got the job woot for me :D its taken all day to come to terms with it, this is gonna be HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE woot :) I start on Monday - They liked me too much and my passion for the company was obvious compared to the rest of the candidates - its awesome though because I relate to it so much as a music artist, I use this to get my music out there, and as a worker for the company I have that as a drive to make new intuitive features - Im gonna listen to what people say not like the more corporate styled companies out there. I cant wait!

Yeah they liked me so much they want me to start now as junior but have the contract listing me as web developer, then january they will add more team members and have me manage them :D I even get to join in the interview process :D

Had an interview start at 9am and end at 2pm. Although there was a few of us in the room, we were doing tests all day. Seemed to last for ages.

Funniest one was when I went for an IT job and they left me in the room for 45 minutes when they said they would be a few minutes.
Got a bit bored and started drumming on the desk and looking out of random windows at cars.
Then to be polite, when they walked in and apologised for being a 'little' late I said 'Oh, it's fine' when in actual fact I was so hungry my belly started growling through hunger and continued for the rest of the interview.

Oh btw - congrats!
