The longest interview in the world!

Longest interview I've had was on Monday - started at 08:30 and ended just after 12:00. About an hour with a lady from HR, followed by a technical interview with two developers and then a 45 minute technical test.

Must've done well though, because I accepted their job offer on Tuesday :)

My interview process for BT was ment to be a recruitment day, full day events where you would do tests and team working, however my application was pushed through this stage to final interview for some reason so i didn't have to attend.
My actual interview started at 12 and i got out about 3.30, not that long, but considering it was an apprentice position i thought it was quite long :)
Got the job though, chuffed to bits!
Well done mate!

Mine was about an hour for M&S. General briefing, quick role play, then discussing preferences, contact details etc.

It was only a Customer Assistant role though, nothing big. Only job interview I have ever been through though :p

Congrats on getting the job, sounds good.

I've had an 8 hour assessment centre where there were different tests (didn't get that job!) but the longest actual interview is about an hour, which seemed to go really quick and I got that job.

I think you know when an interview has gone well. I've had interviews where I've thought after how rubbish it went and then others where you have a pretty good idea it's gone well and you'll get the job.

Sounds like you were making a plan to put a hurt on the guy who made it. :)

It didnt take much!

the guy made his code so messy, he had his back end php in his front end pages - anyone could click view source and see the connection and queries to the database! I told them I'll use my own time remove the security issues... I mean the sql injections anyone can make >.< it wasnt even a finished site. there is no community features for it... Im gonna make the site mmmmmmillions mwwwwahahahahahah.

well done on the job.

One thing to base in mind when i was searching for your thread if you got the job or not.
When you described how you changed this and that - it sounded like you were being really big headed. Well it doesn't all work with some companies because as much as technical skills you might have, you could be seen as a flaw when it comes to working in team.
if you know what i mean

Congrats on the job mate, sounded like you had it in the bag from the off though, getting on that well with the bigwigs.

Good luck :) Sounds a little like my 3 hour interview. Most of it was just talking about the company and chatting about hobbies. I got the job, haven't started yet though :)

coding structure, mixing his php with his front end coding

Sometimes this isn't always a bad way to work depending on the size of the project. Using template engines to seperate the logic from the presentation on small projects doesn't seem worth it (which by the sounds of it isn't a really big and complicated site?)

With that said, I am curious as to how you seperate your php from front-end? I still mix most of my php with the designs as I currently only build single scripts. Even so, I still make it as structured and as tidy as possible.

If can do when criticising someone's code, is structure and commenting.. I'd not consider you an "experienced" programmer.

Longest interview I've had was for my current job. 5 mins of it was technical questions, 20mins of it was discussing the company and it's likely path, and the rest of the 3.5 hours was discussing my interests outside of work.
