Hi Tega :)

Its Iommi here from the Old days of Unseen Servants.

Im back on LOTRO and have rerolled on Laurelin.

Have all the old crew moved over?

Currently Playing

Caerwyn - Burg (16ish)
Lyrisa - Hunter (11)

Also have a champ and LM going and Moria is in the post :)

hey bud long time no chat !!! Crocus Juss and myself atm but Evason has just bought MoM so he might join us .. ill get in touch with you ingame !

we started a small kin so we could chat 'Children of Eru' so all are welcome, just dont expect powerlevelling hardcore instance action! *yet* ;p

A well known online game store has The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria Compilation Pack for £9.99

Would that be all I need to get started?

I'm looking at getting into a new MMO, WAR is too buggy and has annoyed me too much despite having many level 40 chars on there, Conan has lost its charm... don't get me started on WOW :p

if you like MMo's and found the above annoying then i reckon Lotro will be fine for you.

it has the Epic story line, vast regions to explore with lush graphics and the community is extremely helpful.

buy that edition as you get SoA and MoM meaning you have everything needed from the off... gluck

i will add everyone on Laurelin to my friends list today.

sorry to sound dumb but i have just finshed my last exam today at uni today and now have time to play online games. what i want to know is which LOTR game to go for, like do i stary on Shadows Of Angmar or go straight onto Mines Of Moria.

as you can tell i havent got a clue !!!!!!!!!!!!

Mines of Moria is for lvl 45 to 60 and is the addon to the main game, so theres plenty of content and sotry driven questing to do before you get there...

its well worth the £10 for the compilation pack

Have there been any patch updates since Mines of Moria was released?

I've deleted my trial and installed the compilation pack today but it keeps asking to update it and its taking ages, it says i need version 2.2 but i cant find this anywhere?

yes theres been a few updates so patching will be required, although the retail dvd of MoM is fully patched to bk 12 so it takes a lot of hassle away

i was in the founders club and beta so got a lifetime sub for £86 nearly 2yrs ago .. saved myself a bunch 'o' cash in the log run :p

think you can still buy one but £99 iirc ... those offers are usually best to get on release if youve sampled the game first

Bupa? Holy crap! What are the chances....

Turzkahrn here, Defiler of Karn Aanug. ;)

hehe small world ;p

i dont go out much on Bupa atm, cant stand all the lame BA's

i ranked up a Defiler to 4 over the last few months but plan to get my weaver to r7 as only 9k to go !!

see you on the moors mate :)

a free week of play,...

The Lord of the Rings Online™ Welcome Back Week with +25% XP event!

Codemasters Online invites you to join us for an amazing Welcome Back Week from the 3rd until 10th August, 2009. The doors of Middle-earth will be open for former players to enter for a week of FREE game play.

If you’ve got a friend who used to play LOTRO and hasn’t logged in for a while then why not let them know about this great week too? Then everyone can take part!
All you have to do is download or patch up to the most recent version of the game client and log in starting 3rd August. Your account will already have been re-activated for you and your previous characters will be there waiting to resume their adventure!

Aion has been the final nail in this damn fine MMo's coffin.. the game is just orientated around instances and not around questing anymore :(

i was close to my fifth level sixty freep and not far off my second Rank 8 creep but sadly the moors (PvP)is just a case of who has the biggest zerg ..

have a lifetime sub so i can always pop in to see how the game changes, but i have no enthusiasm to login these days ...

PvP has always been like that in any MMO.

im not talking about the obvious or any other MMo im more refering to Lotro PvP imbalances since MoM .. the Laurelin PvP community used to be great with 1v1 fights common place with no interference. Most classes could fight knowing that there was at least some degree of skill involved which could influence the outcome.

However after the level cap was raised and freeps got new skills and legendary weapon system the balance totally shifted, it basically broke PvP. This in turn led to just zerg v zerg and took away all the fun and what little skill there was.

@ ICEx21 : As an MMo Lotro is superb, the classes are great the locations are great and the Epic quest line fun to persue. It also has the best community you'll find and although i didnt RP some of the events were fantastic and extremely well put together.

cheers for the answers. the pricing structure is quite interesting if complicated. effectively if you have a multi-month plan you get the siege of mirkwood free. random.

bbq sauce

so pay for 3 months in the next 10 days and get it for free? sounds like a plan, looks like i'll be playing again then.

ah sadly your link is to the US forums so the information doesnt apply to EU ... we are getting NO discounts or freebies

really? what a load of **** that is. so as someone said above we can only get it via digital download? I can't find it in any online shops?

well Turbine run the roost in the US and their support is far far better than what Codies give to our lot  ... you can only order the expansion as a digital upgrade through your codies account ..

i dont mind paying for an expansion but im a tad unimpressed with the direction they are taking the game..

Just started again on US servers, went for brandywine, currently level 11 runekeeper after day 1

cracking class the Lorebreaker oops I mean, Runekeeper :p

three of us decided to roll one each and level up together, it was practically impossible to die no matter how much aggro we pulled !! a damage attuned pack of RK's can decimate a mob in seconds.. although I hate meeting them in the moors  when they become sith lord nukers !!

decided to level one of my alt's up a bit purely via skirmishes at lvl 30, questing seems irrelevant seeing as I achieved 3 levels in no time.. :D

Anyone still playing this ? I recently updated my client and thinking of grabbing the Isengard expansion. Left the guild I was in so looking for maybe a new home if anywhere is active.

Logged in late last night for a nose around and ended up nearly completing Epic Quest Bk 4 with a level 40 Burg on my alt 42 Minstrel, was good fun.

I'm just letting my points build up for Rohan when it comes out, it's one of the places I've been really waiting for them to get around to.

Mounted combat sounds interesting too, if they can get it right.

free update 6 hits soon 'Shore of the Great River' the journey towards ROHAN!!

I didn't purchase the Isengard expansion but I'm quite tempted to do so as I don't have a sub to any MMo atm.

**on the store if you put the base version in the basket then change currency to GBP its £18.97, however if you select GBP first it's £22.99 ????**

I recently spent about 4k TP's on unlocking the highest ranked creep skills :p
