The lowest class yet for a flight

Putting aside the very obvious and blatant free advertising motive, there's zero chance you'd see me on a flight like that.

I can see why they're comparing busses to planes, however, busses don't get turbulence. Would you have to agree to not hold the airline responsible if you're injured in a standing section during turbulence? I can't see that going down particularly well.

Never in a million years would I stand throughout a flight.
why not, it even says for flights around an hour long.
turbalance might be an issue, but on such short flights do they even get up high enough for major turbulence.
oh and you could get standing seats for such a low flight time I would have no issue with that. No seats at all, I don't know enough about turbulence etc.

just lol. Good luck getting past all the regulatory requirements.
its internal Columbian flights are there such regulations?

That diagram looks as though there wouldn't be much difference in room between some of the planes that have quite a narrow pitched seating

so what do they propose be done for people who for whatever reason can't stand for an hour? people in wheelchairs, the elderly etc?

a conventional seating system at least only requires assistance for these people getting on/off the flight.

25", economy is what 30-32"? so a fair saving over an entire length of a plane.

planes don't only have to have a single seating system, many already have more than 1.

why? would you really turn down a cheaper standing seat for a 1hour flight? I see no issue at all for very short flights as long as the savings was not like £3

i stated earlier exactly the opposite- i'd rather pay an extra £5 per ticket if they took a row of seats out and spread the difference across the rest of the plane.

i'm no goliath, quite average height, so it's terrible that on every flight my knees are squashed uncomfortably against the seat in front, and its worst to think half of europe has a worse time on flights than i do!

let me rephrase this, if the seating is less comfortable than a tiny cheap car like a matiz then it's not acceptable imo.

I can't imagine the savings would be anything substantial considering a lot of fare is tax and surcharges

Well although I have no idea if Colombia has their own independent regulatory agency (they would have something like the CAA, but most probably utilize rules and regs from the FAA as the CAA does with EASA.) , if they bought a Boeing/Airbus/Bombardier/insert aircraft manufacturer, their aircraft gain Type Certificates from all regulators, i.e. FAA or EASA etc. As such the aircraft requirements would call on thr stringent of those regulatory requirements, so it does not matter if the regulator in one area does not care, as the aircraft requirements would need you to comply with the established 14 CFR Part 25 (for the seats at least) regulations.

Only issue I can see with this now I think is the rather extreme angle planes get on take off.

I think everyone would fall over.

They could save even more space by getting rid of the loos and just giving everyone a bucket, saves queuing too
