*** THE LOWEST PRICE EVER ON A GTX 670 - PRE-ORDER ONLY!! ***

Wow, amazing price for such performance, unbelievable. NVidia must be scared of what AMD have in the pipeline, so are dropping their pants and having a fire sale now to clear stock.

Remember that Gibbo said these are unlikely to OC very well at all. But great deal still.

what's going on here I thought Power Editions were really good at ocing?

was not looking to upgrade but DAMN on that price...

nvm just read the posts above

Well i have ordered one of these to SLI with the overclocked version. I bet some of the non factory overclocked ones probably clock just as well as some of the overclocked versions....

To be honest i wish i could just return the Overclocked one and order another of the £160 to have two of the non overclocked versions in SLI and save me 40 odd quid.

I guess it will be interesting to see which clocks higher though....

:s

I know "you pay your money you make your choice" but it doesnt stop this whole buying a new graphics card(s) business leaving a sour taste in my mouth :p

I have almost hit that buy button a few times now. Thinking of upgrading the 7870 within my second PC, but know I will not notice much difference because I already run a 680 within my gaming rig. Apart from benchmarks, the 7870 & 680 feel the same at 1920x1200, but maybe that's because my Windforce 7870 clocks to 1275MHz whilst my EVGA reference 680 is a poor example. The price just seems too good to resist.

Maybe I should buy two and replace the 680 instead? Decisions, decisions....

Got my order in on this, I really wanted a 4GB as I will play at 2560x1600, but im hoping 2GB will be enough.

When I get it guys I will let you guys know how she overclocks.

If really bad I may add some Coollaboratory Liquid Pro to maximise heat transfer to the heatsink.

Being a Power Edition I think they will still boost quite high. Pretty sure MSI broke Nvidia power recommendations to make it so they do. Maybe not much overclock over the top boost speed though.

These have arrived!

We are literally more or less down to the last 10 units as well - BE QUICK!!!

You have the OC version, much higher clocks and quicker than a GTX 680.

This is a failed OC and as such runs at default 670 speeds and might not overclock, your card is a good 15-20% faster out the box with more OC potential. :)

Two different cards.

Power Edition - None OC, 915/980 clocks with poor OC ability.
Power Edition OC - Overclock guaranteed out the box 1019/1079 with great OC Ability with typical 1200-1300MHz boost range, potentially upto 40% boost in performance over default clocked card. :)

Unfortunately my 670 PE OC only boosts to 1100MHZ. It says OC version on the box but have I been given the wrong card?

I hadn't planned on upgrading my GFX card untill next year. My question is, do these 670 / 680 deals you've been doing mean that overall I'll probably be able to buy a card giving 670 ish performance at a price close to this deal next year?? And therefore price / performance overall will match this, and better, going onwards?

What are you running when you get this?

Only my personal opinion. But I would say the OC version of this card boosts on average between 1100 and 1200. Anything above this is just luck of the draw. I think 1300 is pretty rare to be honest. Not looking for a flame war over this though:)

Nvidia dropping prices can only mean one thing, AMD have a £150-£200 card coming that stomps on a gtx670.

That would be a nice thought, but sadly the 760 prices are pretty static. Once the 670s are gone that is what the new AMD midrange cards will be going up against if the 7950s are retired.

If AMD had such a card then it would make no sense to price as you quote.
AMD need to make money..... all components are priced as the market will pay. Aggressive pricing is either more performance at the same price point or the same at 10% less.

The 6x0 series are old stock so being cleared out. Nvidia have juggled the mix so now a 760 makes the 670 all but redundant so the 670 gets scrapped. The 680 with a slight clock and faster memory becomes the 770 and the 780 is almost a titan. Nvidia get to market new cards for little investment until Maxwell launches.

AMD may.... and only may shake up the pricing when they launch the new cards but given the media quotes of a little cheaper than GTX780 I don't expect a bargain or a serious mid range card initially.

There may be a few deals on 7950 / 7970 at the time but these will only be academic value.... i.e. may be a fraction more frames per buck than the 6x0 deals but in the same ball park.

There is a reason AMD are bundling lots of games..... and it isn't because they love gamers and want to be nice.

It's just not in AMD or Nvidia's interest to be too competitive.... EOL deals are always a little out of the ordinary, snap one up if you have the coinage at the time.

GPU hardware is so fickle ... months of stagnation then a burst of excitement.

Two questions:
One anyone know how the TF 4 stacks up to the DCU2?? in terms of heat and noise?

and two will MSI guarantee this like a normal card or would you get a naff/refurb card if this one was a dud since it failed the OC?

Think I was one of the last lucky people to get in on this offer, £161, what a steal, just a shame about the £9.00 postage I paid. Should I flog the splinter cell game (will i get much cash?) or play it because its life changing?
