hmmm

I'll keep my MBP thanks :D

2.4ghz/Superdrive/15.4"/2Gb/8600GT for £1360 or 1.8Ghz/2Gb/13.3" for £1400.

Hmmm TOUGH ONE!!!!

Should be £1k standard TBH, although you are paying a lot for the design.

Based on what was introduced today;

I'm quite impressed with Apple's new stuff, Apple TV (Take 2!), Time Capsule (Time Machine for the lazy laptop or wireless users, not too bothered about the iPhone / iPod Touch and their Movie Rental (not here till later this year anyway).

One of the highlights will have to be the MacBook air. Which is also one of their biggest let down. Extremely impressed by the technology and size, MY GOD is it thin. The price however, doesn't reflect the specs. £1000 would be pushing it for the basic stats and £1400 to inc SSD and processor speed bump would be almost fair - not roughly £1400 for the basic.

/2-cents.

these last two Mac events have been huge let downs as far as I am concerned.
Macbook Air is good but its nothing more than a gimmic.
No one NEEDS a ultra thin laptop.. More of what the user need?

Actually I need an ultra thin laptop, or at least one that weighs around 1KG. I don't care thats it's not very fast or costs a fortune, my job requires me to have a laptop with me almost all the time and I don't feel like dragging a brick round.

I'll see about the macbook air, it's nice and all but my current HP weighs 1.2KG and serves me quite nicely.
