The Midnight Sky | Netflix

Visuly very pretty and crisp. But story and some scenes felt like I had seen before in other movies. Eg. Space walk. Also found the earth scenes more scifi, he fell into cold water and was fine

Looked well but didn't really go anywhere, felt more like an oscar bate film. Not sure why they think making a slow film makes it potentially oscar worthy, made Ad Astra feel like an none stop action flick.

One of the most tedious things I've watched in years.

Just bundled a bunch of sci fi clichés together and boy was it boring.

"A mysterious global catastrophe". In other words they couldn't be bothered to come up with something so it's not even explained at all.

This wasn’t inherently bad in any obvious way save for the fact that it felt overly familiar and derivative. Quite watchable / passable in most regards.

Impressively bombastic for a TV movie.

Watched this last night. It did nothing to hold my attention. In fact I'd go so far as to say it was expensive looking mediocrity at best.

Watched it last night. Apparently, even the book (Good Morning, Midnight) doesn't explain it either.
They added extra bits to make it more interesting too from what I can gather. Book must be a snooze-fest.

Does the "event" even need explaining? Not sure it would make any difference to the situations in the film and would just be a distraction to the (very bland and limited) story that's being told.

Perfectly sums it up, it's like the story just has a middle but no beginning or no real end
This can work if it is very well done. The Road (both book and film) were gripping even without much context of beginning and end, and was a far more bleak.
This film was just an empty pretty shell
