A good few weeks into ownership now of a 15" MBP. I'm on board with the usb-c thing, I think the keyboard and touchpad are superb, the power is more than adequate for me, I've made my peace with the cost... but I'm not ready to forgive the removal of the Escape key!

So what people will say is that I can remap the caps lock as it's useless - I don't understand this sentiment... unless Apple want to allow me to double tap the shift a la iOS then it absolutely still has a place on my keyboard.

What are other peoples thoughts on this and do you have any viable solutions? Why they didn't put the Esc where the § key is (never, ever used it) will remain beyond me. If they put it back in the next version I'm going to have a childish paddy.

Reasoning is likely to ensure the keyboard "layout" is consistent with older machines, however I agree, it's stupid.

Not aware of any tools to remap the touchbar Esc and the stacked +- symbol key, however if you use Esc constantly because of Vim (or any program that uses Vim bindings), Ctrl+[ will do the same thing.

Can you map § to be the escape?

Just a thought!
I've looked as it was my first instinct... The only solution seems to be an app called Karabiner but it doesn't work with with Sierra.

I don't really mind the Caps Lock solution, but would like a double shift mod to which also doesn't exist!
