The modification bug

modding is stupid. really. ESPECIALLY on run of the mill cars like passats, or god forbid, mondeos....the owners must be stupid.

I've probably spent £1000-1500 on exhaust, de-cat, alloys, air filter and other small mods.

Not as much as some. I'm about done though, might get an exhaust manifold (£250-400) but that's definitely it!!:p

I think I approach things different - when things break, I try to find better parts. Like for example, if my car fails the MOT on a worn brake hose or something, then I'll fit braided hoses - seeing as they'd be off anyway. Same for the front brakes - once the pads are knackered on them, I'll fit different calipers :)

On a Passat?

:(

Its the same idea as people fitting Porsche wheels to Mk2 Golfs or Porsche calipers to whatever, the VAG parts bin is so big and you have such a good selection of high quality OEM parts it would be silly not to select the best thing from the group just because the OEM fitted it to one car.

Thats the way i see it anyways :)
