err mega video, putlocker, video bb, zshare + all the other video streaming sites all remvoe videos when asked just like youtube.

If it;'s ok to put up links to pirate music on youtube why can't we put links to pirate tv shows on those sites?

You don't find it odd that people can't even talk about emulators yet people can post full on pirate songs in their entirety?

yeah the offical ones all the others's arnt and hardly any of the ones posted are from official channels,. They're just pirate copies no differnt to any streaming site.

I got suspended for updating chuggys trust :(

I thought that was slightly unfair, as the rules don't say anything about it, and I even rtm'd my own post to check when someone mentioned it might be naughty, when told that it was indeed against the rules I asked for the trust to be reversed and was then banned! How rude.

I did email my displeasure to you Huddy, but to be honest you guys are generally fair, I was more annoyed at being suspended on account of that half-wit chuggers winding me up.

I have emailed you concerning this - Huddy

What did he get suspended for in the end? Just general trollin' or something specific I missed?

no, like ones which have no screening at all and are dedicated to pirated content. No I don't find it odd. Some sites like YouTube are screened albeit it poorly, others are not and are set up for the purpose of streaming copyrighted material.
Music and YouTube have a long history with many bands saying it is fine for people to post there stuff, whilst others ask YouTube to remove the content.
How many tv shows do the same and allow anyone to upload it to YouTube or other places?

And how would you enforce it? Not allow any YouTube links? How do you know which is official and which aren't. Where tv is a lot simpler as I can't think of one tv prof gram with such lax rules.

the offical ones say "offical" on them youtube gives them proper channels.

You tube has a long history with tv documentaries and even has official clips wtc from the bbc and others by your logic there for it;s fine to all tv shows to be put on there, if all music can be because a small minority say it's ok.

nearly all the flash sites will remove videos if requested as it' the legal loophole that lets them and you tube keep running.


but just because they will remove illegal content if requested doesn't mean it should be fine to post illegal content that hasn't been caught yet does it?
 
Most flash sites are totally set up for copyrighted content. You know such sites, one which show entire tv programs and films.

Clips are not the same as entire shows.

Again some bands have said people are free to post on YouTube. How many entire tv shows have done the same.

yet they will all remove a video if requested by the copy right holder.

Also you tube has whole episodes of nearly every tv show you can think of on it too, split up into sections cause of their time limit. but can you really argue that "house s01e02 part 1" Houses01e02 part 2" house s01e02 part 3" uploaded by some random bloke is more legit than "house s01e02" uploaded to megavideo in one pice?

So because one band says it's fine that means it applies to all the record companies who actually hold the copy right and say it isn;t fine?

the easy way would be only songs or videos posted by the copy right holder.



I'm just curious why pirate songs are A ok, yet pirate Tv isn't, let a lone talking about emulators which don't even need any piracy at all.

how about a song uploaded to megavideo, because it's not youtube is it instantly illegal?

no.

warner is paid for views on it's official videos, which is why they reallllly hate the unofficial videos on youtube as it costs them views and money.

Again it comes down to how mods would expect to enforce it. IMO you have a blanket ban or you don't and if you think something is copyrighted then report it.

I'm sure if you linked to a 12part film on YouTube mods would remove it, as it's clearly against the copyright. Where music is not so clear cut at all.
I have no idea what universal and other labels have with YouTube.

Maybe a mod could comment.

Edit - Sony Music entertainment have an almost identical deal with YouTube allowing worldwide streaming.

i love all the mods in here
even more so now they lifted my mm ban
thundy is my fav though, i once opened my heart to him about my mm suspension, he listened, but still wouldnt lift it. lol
