The Mohammed Aamer Interview

Not sure if I can believe him. It certainly seems plausible to me that his innocence/ inexperience was taken advantage of.

Also, I'd be more inclined to believe him if he actually got a haircut.

Don't post a timesofindia link though, that paper sucks :p

I caught most of it. Not sure if I believe everything he said but I certainly believe he was pushed, almost even forced into it by other more senior players such as Butt. How far are we into his 5 year ban?

halfway i think,

It all Happened in 2010

He's an amazing bowler. Would have taken the world by storm, really disappointing.

I really want to believe that he was taken advantage of and it's Butt and Asif's fault, but I'm not sure I can.

I watched it and kinda laughed at how much he pleaded that he was pushed into doing this...i dont believe it for a second plus he comes across as a very articulate person ie the way he spoke and put across his points...unless he was told to say these things by his advisors.

Still i do wonder why there werent any alarm bells ringing when he was told to bowl the no balls...he admits that he knew he was doing wrong but didnt inform anyone about it.

I feel sorry for the lad but hes as guilty as the other 2 and rightly so deserves his ban...i dont think he will play cricket again from what he was saying. He knows he messed up and is now going to have to pay for it for the rest of his life ie if he plays cricket again, anytime he bowls a no ball...people are going to wonder, was that intentional or not.

Also i dont believe for a second that he didnt do it for the money....im sorry but hes not as dumb or stupid as he makes himself out to be.

People deserve forgiveness though. He will be playing international cricket again by the age of 23/24. Maybe all this time out of the game will take its toll on his ability.

Either way, I think he at least deserves a second chance. His career's not going to be what it could have been. Pakistan have some great bowlers coming through like Riaz, Junaid, Rehman, so he might not even get a place in the team.

I'd expect him to work hard with the ICC to help stop global corruption though. That's what he needs to do, he has the potential to now be a great asset in fighting corruption in cricket.

Of course he deserves a second chance, i mean look at Samuels of WI...hes now back playing after being charged with corruption. Same with Asif, who was found to have drugs on him but yet still managed to come back and play.

The question is whether or not he will want to come back because from what i gathered of the interview, he doesnt seem that keen on coming back.

Anyhow he only has himself to blame, he should have known better and shouldnt have let himself get into such a situation.

Like i said i dont believe hes all that innocent, i think he knew full well what he was doing and him claiming he didnt do it for the money is a load of crap...why else would he be doing it if not for the money??.

edit: Pakistan vs Bangladesh ASIA CUP 2012 FINAL. Bye Bye India. Feels good to say that after you hammered us the other day. :P
