For the sake of argument, say the americans did land on the moon. Does that mean the moon is now "owned" by the americans? Since they claimed it first?

If you cant enforce a law, it doesn't exist... I expect the moon belongs to whoever is big enough and hard enough to have it

I think you should build big walls that spell out "OcUk" .....talk about good advertising then :p

With neon flashing red and blue lights on the top...

"the moon one big neon advertisment"

One day the America will starting owning parts of it. Bound to happen. Then somewhere like China or Korea will start owning other parts of it, etc etc.

Yea! You get a certificate of authenticity aswell. Lol scammers .

It'll be funny when those idiots who bought parts of the moon try and claim their land when we finally do have a moon base.

Besides, I thought there was some sort of international agreement stating that no nation would own parts of outer space.

It's like we're in an alternate reality where the first five or so posts of this thread don't exist.

if they did land on the moon in 1969 than why havnt we been back since. its 2006 and we cant ever land on the moon today what makes you think we could back then.

A quote from that link:

The Agreement reaffirms and elaborates on many of the provisions of the Outer Space Treaty as applied to the Moon and other celestial bodies, providing that those bodies should be used exclusively for peaceful purposes, that their environments should not be disrupted, that the United Nations should be informed of the location and purpose of any station established on those bodies.

Does this mean that terraforming is out of the question then?
