The more I see of the new 'fall update' dashboard, the more I hate it

I agree I wouldn't mind If I had the option to keep it how it is???

I'm happy with the dashboard as it is, a clean tidy layout that I can navigate in seconds, going through the FL looking at those pictures looks like a chore.

All I wanted was larger private chat, although with that comes issue. How do you stop cheating in MP games with private chat in clans?

Maybe I will grow to love it but for me there isn't a lot wrong with it currently.
 
Bah, I hate that new cartoonish style. The stupid little cartoon characters with the oversized head. Not everyone who plays games is a child. Their general idea and layout is pretty nice, I just don't like the cartoon style.

Are these just themes or is the entire dashboard going to change?
 
Yes it looks different but its like anything else that changes what we're used to, you will get used to it. The dashboard as it is took some getting used to when the 360 was launched. Its like new roads, or the new facebook for example with people are whinging about it and joining groups like "join if you hate the new Facebook and want the old one back". People just don't like change. I actually prefer the new Facebook for the record lol.

Edit: Im betting the new dashboard will be fully customisable.

Why do they have to go with the whole 'casual social' fad. I thought the 360 was pipped as a GAMERS console. If you did not have all the Mii's strewn arround it could have looked nice.

All they needed to do was clean up all the redundant links and not put things you want instantly under 4 layers of slow windows. A cross between the dash and the XMB would have been perfect. :(
 
I think the update looks pretty good... it's much cleaner than before. I don't mind the avatars too much, but I can see why a lot of people will hate it.
 
Turn off the avatars and you have a typical microsoft navigation layout. If anything the current dash looks childish with the bright colours, big buttons and blades.

As you can guess, I like it. Because its simple. As for forcing you to use it, well they are forcing me to use the blades.... so that argument is moo. Plus I would rather they use all the flash space for a new UI than only be able to use some just to keep the old one.
 
I've hardly looked into it at all apart from the initial screens Major Nelson gave us months ago. I struggle to navigate our current dashboard as it is tbh...
 
Looks fine, most of the time you wont even use it and just click to go straight into a game anyway.

Also, I thought it was stated that the Avatars were optional?
 
I think it looks great and I can't wait.

My daughter loves the look of Avatars (she likes Mii's too) so even these are a win in my eyes.
