The more I see of the new 'fall update' dashboard, the more I hate it

basically rip off wii and ps3 and i don't want it. every time i see it it becomes more childish. if microsoft doesn't provide an option to keep current dashboard they will alienate some of the older gamers which they have been providing for years. why can't they get that and stop forcing users to accept it

the truth is that kids buy wii and people who got ps3 is for mainly blue-ray drive but xbox 360 has always been aimed for older gamers since the original. now microsoft is making a circus of the dashboard and completely making a u turn with all the little gimmicks that i don't want

I think its turd as well, i dont get why they implememted the blade system first of all (which is pretty good) then totally changed it for this upcoming update. Only thing im looking forward to (sort of) is loading games to the hard drive. Pretty sure ms will come out with a bigger drive for those with a large games catalogue.

There's a 'simulation' up on Xbox.com

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/nxe/

I like it a lot. I bet it gets a release in late November, probably around US Thanksgiving time. Luckily there are oodles of great games coming between now and then which will pass the time. Unfortunately, I'm of the attitude of waiting to play them so that I can install said games on to the HDD and shut up the DVD drive noise. :D

Heh i'm the opposite to the OP - I hated it when I first saw it - but everytime I see it I like it a little more :p
I'm now definatly looking forward to seeing what it has to offer :)

I think i probably spend less than 5 seconds in the dashboard on my 360, i switch it on, put a game in and away i go.

Why spend any longer than that?

I don't like the fact that it seems to boot up on that Welcome selection rather than straight into Games choices. I hope that's not the case or that a default start screen can be chosen.

basically rip off wii and ps3

please.....

this is one older gamer who is looking forward to it.
as for childish..... if it helps my wife and kids to want to use it more, then great.

Why spend any longer than that?
