I'm playing through Episode 2 again, and playing the part where you have to fend off the ant lions from the tunnels.. It's just so cool. But when all of the tunnels end up with three red light... That part is just so awesome it's untrue. Having all of those Vortigons (no idea how you spell that) owning all of them ant lions is made out of pure awesome.

There are so many in COD4 that I won't mention them all. Some of the missions where so good, that I feel like mentioning the whole mission as an 'awesome sequence'. :p But an honourable mention goes to the part where you snipe Zachiev, and escape. Another part I'd mention would be the part where you go down to rescue the female pilot, when it happens, the process of rescuing her and the escape... The whole sequence was just so cool. And of course, the end sequence. The whole part from escaping the silos to when you get picked up in the chopper. The whole game was an awesome action sequence tbh...

So come on, what sequences have you completed thinking "Wow.... What have I just played?"

Intro to 'Dawn of War' bloody amazing, wish they'd release a feature length film like that....probably the only intro I sit thru everytime I play the game :)

one sequence that keeps coming back to me in in half life 1 whne you are in a trnech network where you are figihting against the soldiers and there is a tank that fires at you if you keep your hed up for too long.

The Omaha beach landing in MOHAA. Old hat now of course, but at the time it was pretty intense, hadn't seen anything like that before.

TIE Fighter,

When you're sent on a suicide mission to clear a minefield in an Interceptor
then your wing mates double cross you and attack from behind
then the freaking star destroyer opens fire (remember two hits and your dead)
then a frigate from the secret order arrives to rescue you

OH THE DRAMA:D

I enjoyed lots of COD4 - the end sequence was awesome. I really enjoyed the sniper 'hiding' mission as well as having to save your mate at the end of it.

Turrican 2 had some awesome bits as well (such as the wind - was the first time I've ever witnessed this in a game) and the shoot em up bit - better than most shoot em ups I've played (especially when the guns get broken and you have to fly and dodge).

I could list a lot more but I've already gone back to the 90s' and could end up going further...

First playing Halflife had that effect on me really. When the test sequence goes wrong and suddenly you're making your way through the broken laboratories with just a crowbar and wondering wtf has happened. It was so far removed from anything I'd experienced in a PC game before, truly awesome.

What Nullvoid said.

On top of that, all the CoD games have blown me away with certain sequences.

Freespace 2 final mission - super!! Freespace + Freespace 2 were packed with great sequences.

that bit in Portal, between the opening sequence and the end credits - that was awesome :p

oh, and the beach landing in CoD2 - most intense bit of gaming I've ever been through.. needed a brew and a cig after that!

The Fort Frolic level of Bioshock.
The atmosphere of Rapture is creepy enough anyway, but having the psychotic Sander Cohen watching and directing your actions as well, brilliant.

agreed on that also the tram ride at beginning was cool, and coming off the train in ep1 at the station very 1984ish.
