The most awesome sequence(s) in games you've played

the final (i think it the final) GTA san andreas mission where your in a mad car chase flying through signs etc. was gutted when that long mission ended. was so well done

The cutscenes in Resident Evil 4 were good, especially when halfway through it dropped you back 'in control' of things. It gave it a few nice movie-esque feeling.

The final fight against Guildenstern in Vagrant Story (in fact the entire game was solid gold).

The sequence at the the end of Final Fantasy 7 where Cloud uses Omnislash on Sephiroth.

Sequences I have played, so static scenes I was able to have some control off have got to be FF7 or Resident Evil 2 (the fear from a Tyrant chasing you for the first time is pant wetting)

If you mean FMV only then FF7, Resident Evil or Dawn of War.

If you mean gameplay then Supreme Commander is just one big pant wettingly sexy sequence after another.

I know. :( I tried, but the best I could come up with was 'cool'. :p

Could you think of another word for thesaurus?

crisis core the last fight, when Zack is injured you know you cannot win..you will die...but god dammit im TAKING YOU ALL WITH ME!!! ARGHHHHH! love it.

That bit in HL2 Ep1, where your underground waiting for the lift and all the lights are out. Your flashlight starts flickering and goes out, your in complete darkness and can hear Alyx(?) shouting. You flashlight comes back on and there's loads of zombies coming straight for you. I was screaming, swearing and shooting the hell out of those zombies and it came so close to getting eaten alive by the zombies and just made it into the lift :D

The opening sequence on HL2 Ep2, and the end sequence where your fighting off those huge Strider(?) things.
The ant lion part the OP explained.

The stealth sniper mission in CoD4 and the end sequence.

The final part of Portal, so many lols :p

Max Payne i think

The first room where there's 4 guys playing cards

kept F9'ing so I could replay it over and over and over :)

Stolen. This was what I was going to put. The ending cinematic was really something too.

It was nice finally finding out what exactly happened rather than the rather vague flashbacks.

I love watching the end sequence to criss core then quickly switching to the PS3 FF7 tech demo, it works so well (please Sqeenix)

oh and on the AVP1 along the same lines but the first couple of time you hear the alert sound on MGS, heart would bloody race! :D

I don't know which I prefer, the 'opening' to FFVII at the end of CC, or the tech demo, both are very nice.

And the last 5 or 10 minutes of Mass Effect. Pure joy.

Half Life 1, after the intro and the wandering about and brief fights with face huggers the music kicks in and the swat teams suddenly appear and start shooting. I honestly thought "great, here's some guys to help me kill the aliens.." :)

Loved that moment and I always think about it when playing other fps games for the first time. Maybe it's because I'm older and wiser now, but no single player fps has surprised and excited me like the first Half Life game.

I wish I could have experience Half-Life like that. I'd love to play it for the first time now just after it had been released. I did complete it probably nearly five years ago and it was an incredible game. But I can't help but wonder how much I would have enjoyed it if I'd have played it at the time of release, from an experienced gamer's point of view.
