The most expensive item you have ever bought?

i think you should not inc cars houses holidays. Obviously the most expensive things you are probably going to buy... Excluding those ..hmmm.

In a single transaction, my first PC i built was about £1500 and i payed in cash.
at one of them crappy tottenham court road PC fairs.

Ok then, a painting. £15k a couple of years ago. Now worth several times that :)

Does this include items you purchased through work? If so, then that may be in the hundreds of thousands, just shy of the magic million mark.

My pc cost me around £450 to build, although that was in parts and not one lump sum...

The most I can think of is my Canon G7, which was about £315 I think

U obviously have far too much money and deserve a slap tbh

Why? It was an investment that paid off :) Trust me, I'm broke. But I just try to buy investments rather than gadgets. I only had the money to put into it because I sold another investment.

Well m8 u are far more sensible than me tbh. But fair play to u.

I wont slap u either, that was only a drunken joke that got way out of hand :D

Picture…

I didn't buy that, obviously, but my Grandparents did a fair while back now. They snipped the top off buy the looks of it to get it into the room, named 'The Rolf Harris' since. Then, I happen to come along and pick it as my room when we moved in a few years ago.

No one knows how much they paid for it, but it all went to charity iirc.

Edit: The room is about 7 1/2 foot tall.

Bit of a long story. We've bought a few small oils by the same artist (not as expensive as that). Loved her work and a few years later realised what the market was doing with them. So started buying for investment. Sorry I don't have a photo. For now they are wrapped up (and locked up!) due to a recent house move. They are by Mary Fedden. A lovely lady who we've met. To give an idea of what sort of pictures they are, some samples of her kind of work are here:

Not something I'd go for but then If had it on good advice they were rising in value then I would'nt say no, you certainly made a nice investment there contrats mate, I've started thinking the same way over the last few years, I felt the yerning to own something real that I can keep and does'nt depreciate in value, instead of expensive gadgets that become worthless within a year,

My favourite atm the moment is Josiphine Wall,

I don't own any of her work yet, If I put the hours in I could afford a peice after the summer, the one I wanted last year went for £4800, the same peice 10 years ago was sold for around £150,
