The most strange HDMI problem...Can anyone help???

Hi,

I have been using my HTPC (Intel, GTX670) for several months with Samsung UE46D5500 TV. One day I decided to take out the GTX 670 from the HTPC and try it on another PC. Since then I can not use it in my HTPC!!
When I install it back to the HTPC and connect it to TV through HDMI I get the "No signal" message. I have tried the following:
1) test the GTX 670 in another PC/monitor and works fine
2) test the whole HTPC in another monitor and works fine
3) test another PC to my AV receiver/TV/HDMI cables combination and works fine
4) tried several HDMI cables and power plugs (!!) but no difference
5) power-cycled the devices (TV, AV receiver) but no difference.

As it is now all devices seem to work fine but cannot cooperate each other whereas they did perfectly some days ago!!

Any more ideas??
 
It could be that it's not reading the TV's EDID information correctly or that there's some problem with the OS monitor setup.

HDMI inputs on a TV only support a very limited range of resolutions and refresh rates. To bypass this, connect up using the DVI-I port to a second monitor. Make sure to set the OS and graphics card resolutions to something simple and low resolution; 720p/60Hz should do. Then power all down. Disconnect DVI and connect only with HDMI. Put the TV on and select the correct input. Reboot. If at first you still get no signal, power off the PC and try again.

Once you have the screen working via HDMI then you can change the screen resolution.

I am not sure if I was clear, but the TV displays the message "No signal" from the beginning. If I connect the HTPC to the TV, I can't see anything, no bios, no windows nada :-(
You mean I should do this in parallel with the TV or just hook up the HTPC to another monitor and then return to the TV?

If you've switched ports you may have confused your pc to use the DVI as the main screen and the HDMI as screen 2. If the computer isn't set for duplicate screens or multi-monitor setups it'll just remain no signal.

I'd plug both the HDMI and DVI into something. Go into your display settings and try and reset the HDMI as the main output.

Failing that, uninstall the drivers. Remove all the HDMI/DVI cables. Restart the PC and then plug the HDMI cable back in and let your OS find the port automatically.

Lastly, check your bios settings that you're not sending to any motherboard video output ports.
 
Nothing from the above suggestions works...I finally connected the DVI output and Digital Audio to the AV receiver and found a solution to use the HTPC. HDMI doesn't work no matter what.
