The New Cases Gallery

My now completed build (I think)

My first attempt at cabling with the corsair individual braided cables may well redo them have good temps with the H100 I have 2x SP120 Corsair performance fans in the roof sucking thru the radiator.

My attempt at cable management in the back.

Not bad Never used those corsair braided cables but Once you've built in as many 600T's as I have you do find really handy routes for the cables.

Such a nice case and aslong as the panel doesn't bulge you've nailed it tbh :)

Here is my attempt with my Fractal Arc Midi.

This cable tidier isn't human!

Not the news you want to hear lads, but my rad assembly is external. 1260 with 4 x 200mm fans.

If you watch TTLs vid on watercooling an rv02 (search "How to watercool a Silverstone Raven or Fortress RV02 FT02") it will help you out. It involves a dremel though.
In any case I can't fit the 35mm thick magicool rad in as the 680 lighting pcb is as long as a 690 lol. I only have ~30mm room. So I would have to get rid of the brackets and lose the dust filtering. Not happening!

tubing is masterkleer and fluid is mayhems x1 clear with blue + deep purple dye. (camera is making it look light).

Thats what I thought about the rad but in the pic it really looks like you have one under the fans from where the tubes are going hehe.

I use the Magicool dual 180mm radiator in the bottom of my RV02 myself and using the dremel isn't needed.

You can remove the fan brackets in the bottom and then mount the fan filters underneath the bottom of the case with some magnetic tape, then the radiator fits perfect.

khemist,

What are you using the dual 180mm rad to cool, as I'm looking at either the dual (no mods to my FT02) or modding the hard drive cage for the triple 180 rad? I'm going to be cooling an i7 3770k & a GTX480, do you think the dual is enough for me?

And can you direct me to the magnetic tape please mate, just the thing I'm looking for :)

Also, do the fans screw directly into the case floor with the bracket removed?

I'm using it for a GTX680 and 2500k but it will be enough for your setup as well.

The fans are screwed into the radiator only and it's just laid in the bottom of the case, but the fit is so perfect that it can't really move about once it's in place.

For the tape just google 12.7mm self adhesive magnetic tape.

Brilliant, may just stick to this then?

Couple of quick ones for you, can you link me to the joining connector in the pic (90deg, ball one) on OCUK?

and also what is the make and colour of the fluid you are using?

Cheers :)

OCUK doesn't have it but the part number is BP-MBTMB, tubing is masterkleer UV Yellow (although i don't use UV) and Mayhems pastel sunset Yellow.

You can't see the liquid through the tubing, just the blocks, i did it like that so i don't have to worry about tubing clouding and it's pretty much a perfect match.

Thanks again, I'm now getting closer to my first WC'd PC :)

Actually, does that part come with the end cap stopper (not sure of the name, its in the pic above?) and is it in silver? :D

Doesn't come with the blanking plug i'm afraid + get some pics up when you get around to it.

Edit - one thing i forgot to mention is you have to be very careful when taking the brackets out of the bottom or you will snap the tabs off them like i did although i'm not bothered since i'm using the case without them from now on.

I'm assuming this is the silver version? (though other etailers say its a T-Block but OCUK list it as a Y-Block?) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-017-BP&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=2059

And am I right in saying this is the blanking plate you used (low profile?) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-120-BP&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=2059

And I think I will start a build log for this with lotsa pics :D

It is finally done, though good observers may notice the front bezel is still missing, but that has to be painted yet, but it is up and running :)

Corsair Obsidian 700d, disassembled, sanded back, painted gloss black, new plate along the length of the case (under the pumps) which was cut, bent and painted Vauxhall Arden Blue, Door modded with window hole and fan hole, 360mm RAd in the top and bottom, a plate riveted to the back so that the PSU bolts to the rear of the case on its side (makes room for the radiator) and a plate made (just above the rear exhaust fan) so that 1/4" BSp fittings can bolt to the inside and outside of the case so the tubes don't have to go through those silly rubber grommets.

The reservoirs are custom made, bits of 50cm 2mm thick aluminium tube with 3mm aluminum plate welded on the ends and corners rounded off then painted gloss black. the bracket also custom made aluminum sheet cut, bent and welded to the tanks. Each tank holds 3.7 Liters of coolant.

All in all it took 5 months without my pc to get to this stage where its up and running. Still a few things to do like the front bezel, drive bay covers and inserting the window into the door and then it will be finally finshed :)

Very nice, I would put your drives in the lower bay and remove the top. You will get much better airflow as the drive cage is very restrictive.

This is mine with the top cage and plastic mounts removed. You then have the 140mm fan blowing unrestricted air to the gpu and cpu area and it makes quite a difference on temps.

Very nice case, very clean and tidy. I was wondering if you recommended that Noctua NH-D14? choosing the right CPU cooler is a nightmare for myself. Also do you have a fan in the front were you removed the bays? That would really help with airflow pushing everything out of the back of your case. I also hope to stick a floor fan to the bottom like you have done but i need to do some more cable management first before i can do that. Love the system excellent job.
