I suspect it's the fusion drive that's doing that...

Edit, oh wait you said export. Suspect it's the 32gb of RAM :p

That amount of RAM won't be used at all exporting, the only time I saw 16GB of RAM being used on mine was when I thought merging a Brenizer panorama in Photoshop 64bit using about 50 odd images was a sound plan! Luckily everything is via SSD so it didn't stall for long.

Did it manage that? Whenever I try and merge about 15 or more shots photoshop throws a hissy fit and crashes :( (8gb of RAM), and judging by Raymond's TP thread he uses about 24, I think he said...

I want to get two SSD via Thunderbolt. One as Scratch Disk, One to be the working drive.

Before that I need to get a 2TB External HD so I can copy all the DNG/RAW files and store it at my sister's house in a small Peli case.

Yeah it worked fine, like I said, all working and scratch is via the SSD (Samsung 256GB) so even if the RAM fills, it sorts itself out fairly quickly.

how much was that filter system?

I've finally decided to invest in a proper ND filter setup and because I live on the sea pretty much I'm surprised I've not done this sooner!

Expensive .......

I got the filters off the bay, 125 quid the pair, mint/unused. The rest came new from Robert White, WEX are a bit cheaper but no stock on most of what I wanted.
Soon as they arrive sun goes in and I have grey skies !! :(

Ah excellent cheers, Hmm that is quite pricey then! I'll see how this Cokin kit does and if I get results worth posting then I can always just buy additional filters I guess :)

I need to beef up my main system (i7 920, 6gb RAM), but waiting for the next round of CPUs from Intel first. I have a SSD but want to get a couple more to work from, now I temp store the RAWs on Raid 0 mechanical drives then once done archive them onto my NAS. I find it slow sometimes, like yesterday even with only 250 RAWs

Forgot to post up my Christmas present! - The 50mm Canon and 70-300mm Tamron were existing lenses - I'm think about selling the 70-300 as the Canon 70-200 is much sharper all round and, if the extra range becomes necessary, I can get the 1.4x III extender with the money from the Tamron (plus a bit extra).

Yeah quite agree, my filters turned up last week, and the sun went in !!! ....

Oh... Confession time..... More Contax kit arrived today .... oops ...

Another 50mm F1.4 as mine is really slow to focus and needs to go back to Japan. The fresh one is so different, quick snappy and positive and accurate ..... It came with a free NX (film) SLR and leather case....
I say free because it was all 200 quid cheaper than when I bought the first 50 mil lens !!!!!..... The wonders of the 'bay !! :(
