the new kawasaki H2

I don't get why people are drooling over the H2, ok its 210 bhp, but it's also 238kg, makes it a bit of a porker no?, I mean it's gained an eye watering 37kg over the ZX-10R, is it the fact its supercharged got you all in a lather?.

Let The Goose explain..

:D

£22,000

I'm sorry but no, not a hope in hell, the 2015 R1 is "only" 200bhp, how ever it's a whopping 38kg lighter and £6500 cheaper.

Would far sooner have a Panigale. It's appearance is just totally over-the-top, Lambo style.
Don't like it at all.

I'd say Kawasaki aren't pitching it against the R1 - they've got the ZX10R for that.

More of a Halo product imho or some corporate willy-waving!

It's definitely a corporate willy waver, the problem being that from a customer point of view the vanilla H2 makes no sense, there's no reason to throw away £22,000 on an overweight, underpowered, expensive, complex bike.

You would have to be the most dyed in the wool raving Kwack fan to think the vanilla H2 is worth buying.

It's a bit on the heavy side, but underpowered?

I like.. In fact, I like it a lot.

BUT you're not going to see it in any race series unless they make one for it.

The road version is just to much money for what you're getting, and after hearing the track only version it won't be allowed on any circuit in this country for a track day.

If i had the money i'd still want one :D

I'm reliably informed it's not a proper supercharger ;)

More along the lines of a mechanically driven turbo!

As for it being underpowered, over-weight and overpriced and complex I was wondering how past bikes like the NR750 and R7 compare?

Think in the case of each, and other similar examples from the past, a lot of people don't see past the image/styling/marketing and some of the specs would be a surprise.

That's what a Supercharcher is.

Or a Turbo is an exhaust driven supercharger.

It's more a case of the Kawa unit being literally half of a turbo

Compared to a full-on supercharger/blower like this

A turbo is an exhaust gas driven compressor, a supercharger is a mechanically driven compressor.

Those pics are of superchargers, one being a twin scroll.
