All done with air cooling with just ref cooled GPU's and a 2 year old i7-2600k cpu & motherboard

Honestly, TressFX takes a much higher toll on Nvidia cards than on AMD (I finished Tomb Raider on desktop as well as laptop AMD cards so I can personally vouch for this) so here is a screenshot at 1440p without TressFX to show how big of a difference it makes on Nvidia cards:
