The next best C&C type RTS ?

Do you have the Zero-Hour add-on?

It really improves the game.

Other than that, not much. All the new RTSs have disappointed (Act of War was alright, but nothing special).

I want competitive RTS games >_<

Roll on Supreme commander next year :D

Other than that pretty much all recent RTS games and those on the horizon are pretty poor.

The answer to your question is no.

I absolutely LOVE the C&C series, every single game.
Generals was good, Zero hour was a bit too complicated, too many sides, and a fair few balance issues.

Yuri's Revenge is the best C&C to date IMO.

Until they make a new C&C RTS nothing will be worth playing.

I've tried demos for Empire At War, BFME2 and they are boring.

Dawn of war is better than act of war, but nothing on C&C.

EA have confirmed the next CnC will be based on the Red Alert universe. I wouldn't expect it anytime soon though as there are no leaks apart from an interview post Generals.

I dont believe any of the original devs are left tho - so even setting it in the right universe doesnt mean it will be like the original.

Why don't they just to redo C&C TD and C&C TS on a new engine with the latest graphics? They could even keep the missions roughly the same because let's face it most people play these games for the multiplayer nowadays!

I really don't see why they need any original Westwood developers to make it. It's not rocket science. All they need is a few developers that loved the C&C genre and they will surely do it good justice in a remake.

Generals wasn't C&C IMO. No tiberium = no C&C.

Likewise, no annoying bugs like the tiberium harvesters randomly stopping or getting blocked by a tree on their way back to base = no C&C. These bugs must be preserved in any remake! :D

Agree wholeheartedly on everything mentioned.

meh.. red alert was awesome... but after that they just got silly with the units, actually prefered generals as it brought it down to earth with simple units that actually exist

anyone thats playin the empire at war find the single player hard ? ok so i put it on hard but still the empire currently has 2 fleets either one of which could annihilate every ship i own roaming around violating any planet they see fit :(
