Who's watching this then?

Ravens destroying the Patriots was my upset of the week, and we all knew GB Arizona would be high scoring but 51-45 was insane, what a play to end on!

My predictions for next week:

AFC:
New York Jets @ San Diego Chargers- Going to be a lot closer than people think, great Defenses and running games make for mean playoff teams, but I'm still going to go with Rivers and the Chargers.

Baltimore Ravens @ Indianapolis Colts - Gonna go with the Colts. A lot of people will be riding the Ravens bandwagon after this weekend, but I think the colts offer a lot more than New England did in terms of offense. Besides which the Ravens offense looks pretty terrible apart from Ray Rice.

NFC:
Arizona Cardinals @ New Orleans Saints- Another shootout. Im going with Arizona as I think they roll again, but if their D plays like last night there's nothing to say the Saints can't score 100 points.

Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings- Got a tenner on Dallas to win it all, so I guess I'm going with them.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Divisional Games
NYJ @ SDC - Going for the Jets in an upset. San Diego to have taken the eye off the ball after an impressive closing to the season and the week off.

Ravens @ Colts - Colts should have enough to win this game

Cardinals @ Saints - Saints to have just enough to win this shootout.

Cowboys @ Vikings - Close one but the Vikings to come out on top with the slightly better defence.

NYJ @ SDC - Chargers for me.

Ravens @ Colts - Colts should deal with them providing they can stop Ray Lewis getting to Peyton.

Cardinals @ Saints - Saints comfortable.

Cowboys @ Vikings - Gotta go vikings being a vikes fan, tough game though and going to be a cracker on Sky. Hoping my man Jared can get a big sack on Romo as hes already playing sore, or at least the Williams bro's can rough him up. We need to stop Ware getting at Favre; Wares been in brilliant form all season, and we need to get some good cover on Miles Austin also. Very close game.

Also - the Ravens v Pats game was unreal; that first run of the ball for 80+ was like woah, this is going to be good. And the amount of pressure the Pats allowed up the middle to Brady was unbelievable, it reminded me of "Any Given Sunday" where they just let the blitz through.

Last night 2 of the best games I have seen for a long time :) Most relieved man of the night must be Neil Rackers of the Cards - couldn't believe the miss at the end of regular time. Sammo62 I agree with you that the Ravens looked pretty ordinary, just couldn't believe what happened to the Pats - the Colts are a class act, and should be strong enough. SMN - the Cowboys v Vikings should be great and probably very close

Winners to go through :- AFC - Chargers v Colts NFC - Saints v Vikings

Awesome start to the Playoffs :)

Jets @ Chargers- Being a Chargers fan, it's pretty obvious who I would like to win. It will be close but to be honest I think at this stage we are the better team.

Ravens @ Colts - Colts but I would love to see the Ravens take it.

Cardinals @ Saints - Saints 100%

Cowboys @ Vikings - I'm going to say Cowboys.

I think the main concern for the Colts is starting slow and letting the Ravens get a lead. It's always the danger with resting the starters late in the season.

Oh man I loved seeing Brady getting hammered last night.

NYJ @ SDC - Really want the Jets to win because my brother is a Chargers fan - but Chargers have been great this season

Ravens @ Colts - I want the Ravens to win but I think Colts will edge it

Cardinals @ Saints - Saints - best offense out there at the moment

Cowboys @ Vikings - Cowboys for me as they looked very impressive at the weekend. Finally they turn up at the playoffs

Fantastic game last night at Greenbay! Awesome come back, just a shame they couldn't pull it off in OT!
Colts will bounce back from their shock defeat and be the team to beat.

Shame Five don't show the playoffs, so i missed the games yesterday. There's highlights on BBC2 at 00:10 tonight though for those who missed them though :).

Seriously gutted, we got off to the worst possible start and apart from our two touchdowns, we were second best and definitely not Brady's best game either. We missed Welker.

Roll on next season.

Guess who's flying out to New Orleans on Friday to watch the Saints play? :D

The Saints seem to have slackened over the past 3 games. It looks like it may have been a case of cockiness after going undefeated for so long but after losing 3 in a row I'm hoping it has been a sufficient kick up the ass. They have the offense there to do it so as long as they lay it on hard and fast and are relentless, it should be a walk in the park. Fingers crossed.

Geaux Saints! :D

How does the NFL system work? I don't understand playoff's and what not, really enjoy the superbowl every year though
2 Divisions - NFC and AFC. 32 teams in total. Split into 8 groups of 4.
The teams ranked 1st of the 4 groups in each division go to week 1/2 depending on their win/loss ratio.
2 'wildcard' teams with the best win percentages from each division go to week 1 and play the 2 'top' teams with the worst win/loss of the 4.
Winners of week 1 play the 2 'top' teams with the best win/loss of the 4 in week 2.
Winners of week 2 (the best 2 teams from the divisions) play each other in week 3.
Winners of week 3 (the best 2 teams in the NFL) play each other in the Superbowl.

I hope that's clear. :o
