Some guy at work last week was doing his best to inform me my purchase is rubbish because blah blah blah.
Then yesterday I saw him on that Wonga website trying to get £200 and in the other tab (3DS preorder).
Those people who have had desptached from Tesco, was that Tesco Entertainment or Direct etc?
I know people like that, tell you something is rubbish until it comes out then they're the only ones with it and think they're cool.
Mine has been despatched also, so I think it's fair to say Nintendo has assumed that the pre-order rate will be big so they've sent more. Us Brits certainly love Nintendo.
so glad I kept Pilotwings.
So I have managed to get Ridge racer for free (ONM cancelled sub, person I called said I could keep the game and I'll still get the next issue free too), rayman for £10 (ordered tesco 3DS offer with a game for £10, cancelled the 3DS, it's been charged from my account and posted, and is still tracked on quidco as £18...), and the regular 3DS black + monkey ball is in the post for £188.
That's a 3DS and 3 games for £198, ridge racer has been with me since Monday and the rest has been charged and posted.
To top it off gamestation made a mistake and bought my gf's DS Lite for CEX's sell price rather than buy price, which means it got sold for £73.
Although I'm wondering if I should trade in rayman/monkey ball against lego star wars, ghost recon or pilot wings...
.@Teh_Ivol Well, I'll have to play more of it to make that statement, but so far it's(rayman) been really good.![]()

.@Samus2008 Rayman 3D has been a lot of fun so far. I'm about 10 levels in now. I'd forgotten how much fun Rayman 2 was.![]()

"I've been playing Rayman 3D now for almost 4 hours and I'm loving it. The framerate drops so far have been very minor and unnoticeable in most cases. Looks amazing in 3D. So far the only negative is having to get used to the button assignments, but I'm getting very comfortable with them now."
"No, this is not a flat 2D plane just farther into the background, it is 3D. You can tell the different distances between certain walls and sections quite easily. It's also not nearly as dark as the DS version was and this one features full analog controls, which makes it MUCH easier to control. You can tell from things like the main menu and certain graphical aspects that this is the Dreamcast version of the game for sure."
"It sounds almost exactly like the Dreamcast version. The sound effects are a bit quieter, but you can adjust the background music to allow you to better hear the sound effects if that's important to you. Also, to the question above, the dialog is still gibberish, not regular English."
The 3DS is really neat, and Nintendo's done a good job so far making sure its nifty display makes great (rather than gimmicky) use of the extra depth. But there's one problem—not everyone can see the 3D.
If you're designing games that are meant to be enjoyed in 3D, those whose eyes can't process the bonus dimension aren't really going to be enjoying it as much, are they? It's a small slice of the population, but apparently significant enough to make Nintendo paradoxically reconsider the entire point of the 3DS: "We're moving away from any stance that says if you don't use the 3-D functionality you can't play this game," a Nintendo dev told GameLife. Meaning? More games that work just as well with 3D switched off. Meaning? Why the hell did you buy the 3DS in the first place? [Ars]
Well, going down that road is like saying "If people can enjoy a movie in 2D, then what's the point of 3D?" or "If the game interface still makes sense for people with colorblindness, what's the point of even building it in color?
