****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

The silver lining in all of this is as a lefty I should be able to play Kid Icarus now.

But surly before release they have to smarten it up a bit.

Rumoured that these will all be announced at the nintendo 3DS conference next week.
New Monster Hunter exclusively for 3DS with support for online play.
New Yoshi horizontal side-scroller from Kirby’s Epic Yarn developer Good-Feel.
New game from the WarioWare developer.
New Etrian Odyssey.
Hatsune Miku 3DS, with all the songs from Project DIVA and its sequel.
DS’s The Silver Case, from Grasshopper Manufacture, has been moved to 3DS.
eShop demo announcement. Super Mario Land 3D will have a demo.
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords release date announcement for eShop. It will be free.
The latest project from Alchemist, developer of Umineko, for 3DS.

About time Nintendo brought out demo downloads.
Looking forward to the new Ace attorney and Yoshi platformer if the rumours are true.

New Ace attorney :D

Bloody capcom haven’t released Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2

They definitely have to smarten that thing up, it makes the beautiful, angular 3DS look like a hovercraft. :D

I was a bit surprised how good the 3DS looked when I un boxed it, the pics don’t do it justice, but when you put the cradle on it the 3DS looks massive, I think something that you slotted the 3DS into would have been a better choice rather than something that goes all around it.

Looking forward to Starfox, but I think ill wait for it to drop in price, still playing Xenoblade Chronicles and got a few other games to play after that.

Hmmm finally got round to finishing OOT. It's aged a little but the revamps are welcome and even over a decade later its still an exceptionally good game. Would love some other Zelda revamps, Majora's Mask or Wind Waker 3DS anyone? The art style of Wind Waker would look great on the smaller 3DS screen!

I completed OOT for the first time last week, I really enjoyed it. I used to get bored and give up after the Forest Temple on the N64. I'd love to see both of those Zelda games on the 3DS I own copies of both but again have never finished them.

Really enjoying Starfox 64, the improved graphics are much better than the original, though I used to be really good at the game, but I'm having to relearn how to play since it would have been around 14 years since I last played it.

I was hoping that Snake Eater would get a European release this side of 2011 but I heard the Japanese release will be this year, with Europe and North America in 2012 which sucks. :(

What does everyone think of the second analogue stick addon then? Personally it's annoyed me quite a bit, people will point to the fact that it's always risky being an early adopter especially with a device like the 3DS which was bound to have a second version at some point, just looking at history proves that. The thing which annoys me though is that I was fully aware of the risks, but the risk I was taking was that in a year or so there'd be a newer version with a brighter screen, or it would be thinner, or the battery would last longer. I certainly wasn't expecting something as drastic as a second analogue stick, which I imagine will almost certainly be integrated into any future version of the 3DS.

The reason this annoys me so much is that I would have accepted any of the above changes, but adding something which completely changes the way games are played is just ridiculous and really takes the biscuit. Sure, at the beginning I imagine that most games will offer alternate control schemes, but then I bet we'll see games start to creep in which *require* the second analogue stick, this won't be a problem for people with it already built in but if Nintendo think I'm going to pay more money for their ugly peripheral and then pay even more money on top of that for batteries/rechargeables to keep it powered then they really do have another thing coming.

I've borrowed Nintendo consoles in the past from friends and family members, but this is the first piece of Nintendo hardware that I've actually paid for out of my own pocket, and judging by the absolute epic fail which we've been presented with it will probably be the last as well. Hardly any games, terrible friends system, pitiful amount of content on the store, a bottom screen which can permanently damage the top screen... the list of disappointments only continues.

The best scenario for me personally would be to take advantage of any special trade in deals when the Vita is launched, hopefully I can get a decent amount of money off if I trade in the 3DS, at least that is shaping up to be a true next generation handheld.

I'm ashamed to say I'll be buying the peripheral anyway as I'm the biggest Nintendo nerd going, however I am very dissapointed in Nintendo for not designing the 3DS with dual nub's if they wanted a piece of the PSP pie.

As they're obviously going after the Japanese market with the 3DS I'm surprised they didn't design it with dual nubs.

Oh well, 95% of the games i want don't require the use of that brick so I should be ok.

Bit of luck they'll bundle it with a game (like they did with the memory pack and rumble pack back in the days of N64).

It gets better mate, Metal Gear Solid HD will now be released on the PS Vita aswell! I honestly don't see the point in owning a 3DS anymore the Vita is looking amazing right now.

I am truly shocked at how much Konami have torpedoed their own game with MGS 3D, It start out as a visual masterpiece showing the full power of the hand held, an update of a classic, it could have been the new resident evil remake, now all we have is a quick and dirty port :(

As for the circle pad I'm in 2 minds about it, on one hand they should have learned from the psp but on the other hand un like sony at least the have tried to fix the problem.

I'm agreed on both of your points. When Snake Eater 3D was announced I almost literally did a sex wee, it looked ASTONISHING, then we had silence for a few months, followed by the announcement of the HD versions for PS3 and now we have screenshots of Snake Eater 3D looking similar in quality to Peace Walker from the PSP, it's really disappointing to say the least.

As for the circle pad, I agree that Nintendo acknowledging the potential need for a second stick is a step in the right direction, but they've gone about it the wrong way and I still believe it should have been implemented from the start. Looking at the PSP it was crying out for a second analogue stick, imagine how much more fun Liberty City and Vice City Stories would have been with a second analogue stick. As well as other racing games like Gran Turismo which was made even worse by the digital face buttons on the PSP. :(

I have to be honest dude, when I bought the 3DS I didn't really care for the 3D, the big appeal for me was the playability of the touchscreen coupled with the power of the hardware, as we were promised on numerous occasions that we'd see graphics which were comparable to the Wii, on a small screen I think that would look drop dead gorgeous while retaining the playability and gameplay of the previous DS titles. Unfortunately for Nintendo, Sony have offered a handheld console that absolutely nobody was expecting. It is capable of stunning visuals as well as having massive potential with the inclusion of a touch screen and the touch sensitive back, not to mention trophy support and an online system which no doubt will be really polished.

I just don't see myself keeping the 3DS unless more decent titles are announced.
