****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

Hey I like pokemon and Mario and zelda but I want those kind of exclusives alongside mgsolid or a resivil. I.like to have my cake and eat it. Not just have a console exclusively for mariomon etc. 3d mortal kombat? Er yes pls.

Need a game for a 9 hour flight, will lugis mansion keep me entertained?

LM2 is a great game, I'm very much enjoying it. Exploration adventure game with puzzle elements and the arcadey hook of capturing the ghosts. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The big ask is though, is can any single game keep you amused for 9 hours straight?? I'd need a couple....

Seen this?

Nintendo announced the 2DS today, a new entry-level handheld system. The 2DS will be available for $129.99 on October 12th (the same day as Pokemon X and Y) and features a slate-like design rather than the clamshell seen on DS and 3DS models.

The 2DS is fully compatible with all 3DS and DS games but does not include the ability to display games in 3D. It still features all the functionality of 3DS (WiFi, local multiplayer, etc.) and can be put to sleep using a slider that replicates closing the clamshell on a standard 3DS. WiFi can still be turned off, though it’s done via controls in the software rather than with a physical switch.

Sure is fugly!

I'm trying to work out if they've actually come up with a successful name this time or not. It does at least explain the difference between itself and the 3DS, so maybe they won't need to create posters and adverts this time in an effort to tell people what it actually is, ala the Wii U.

I guess their market is small kids. No hinge to break, less expensive, no under 7's warning about 3D images and can probably withstand being chucked around (or prop open a door)

I do actually like the idea of the 2DS, as I've been looking at getting a 3DS; the fact that its cheaper and I would have never have used the 3D feature would suit me down to the ground.

It just depends on the price difference of this and the 3DS; as its sure is fugly but is it worth the difference in price.

I forecast a low seller; and quite possibly a collectors item in the future. :)

Not too sure. At the right price (£110?) plus Pokemon etc I think it will sell well. Definitely aiming it at younger kids. Still looks hideous though :)

well....theyve gone for a tablet look i guess. its rather ugly though. i don't quite get it. Thing is, pokemon will shift these things into kids laps. Personally the 3ds XL is good enough for me.
