The **Now Drinking** Thread

Biere Speciale. Had 3 pints of Peroni earlier on, I still don't get why people cream over that beer. It's overpriced, bland and just very meh. Why then, did I have 3 pints? Well it was that or Budweiser, and I don't hate myself.

LOL can honestly say I've never had Peroni but I've had a brave few Bud :p

..still on Carlsberg :D

It's sold as a premium beer. The only thing premium about it is the price. However, miles better than Budweiser.

Still on the Speciale. Pal left 40 bottles of it here last night, I don't think he's seeing them again ;).

I really enjoy Talisker, getting into my Islay's a lot nowadays, however I wouldn't ever consider describing it as a smooth whisky. Are you seriously describing it as such or are you calling yourself a smooth gentleman with impeccable taste?

I'm not a big drinker of whisky, I admit that. I didn't really like it much at all (years of getting a bottle of Bells at work for Christmas). Then a mate got me to try Talisker and I was converted. I've got a few bottles of Glenlivet to get through, and some Laphroaigh was quite nice. I like Talisker distillers edition and would like to try 57 north as well.

Perhaps smooth isn't the right word in wider whisky terms but it's how I find it comparison to the limited whiskys I've tried. My brother likes irish whiskey but I tend to prefer peaty flavours.

Couldn't agree more - last time I was in Italy this was their main beer of choice (for obvious reasons) needless to say I didn't drink much alcohol.

From my experience Budweiser is the only beer that gives me one helluva headache the next morning. Any other beers I've tried aren't too bad but I stay away from Budweiser ;)

Talisker 18yr, smooooooth :)

Talisker / smooth? There's two words I'd thought I'd never see together. I like my whisky but that's just far too peaty for me. I much prefer the smoothness of the Speyside malts

Back on topic - Coffee, my second cup as its just after 09:00. I still cant drink alcohol anyway due to my medication :(

It is becoming obvious that I need to expand my whisky experience! I don't find it harsh to drink though, it goes down nicely hence my inappropriate use of smooth :D

I'll have to open a Glenlivet up and compare. I've two bottles of that and the only just opened bottle of Talisker to finish off before I buy anything else though! I should add that I have currently given up all beer\lager\cider\wine so have a wee snifter is a new thing to me.
