The bloke opposite me in wetherspoons is eating the best looking chicken burger ever. Strongly considering it. Burger, chips and a pint for £5.60. You can't really argue tbh.

Bavarian style slow cooked pork knuckle finished in the oven to crisp up the crackling. £3 for the pork and no effort at all, ace midweek meal!

Footlong chipotle chicken melt from Subway. Herbs n cheese bread, pepperjack and triangle cheese, lettuce, cucumber, black olives and some more chipotle sauce on top

No pic as I woofed it down right away. And the guy forgot to charge me for the extra cheese!

Luckily I'd have to go well out of my way to even get near a Tesco.
Ended up with Häagen-Dazs chocolate and salted caramel anyway.

Finally got round to checking out BAO Fitzrovia. Went there at 1.30pm, got straight in! I thought hipster places like this meant queuing for 45mins? :confused:

Beef cheek nuggets (empty plate at the back

)
Classic bao (pork belly, coriander, peanut)
Lamb bao (lamb shoulder, green sauce, pickled chilli)
Pickled cabbage (sort of kimchi-lite)
Tomatoes in a sweet soy-ish sauce
Fried chicken, hot sauce with egg yolk :cool:

Pretty incredible. I'd love to go on an evening and make a real feast of it. The bao were amazing. So more-ish.

made miso chicken. Don't think I've ever cooked with it and not sure I've ever had a dish with it as a main ingredient. not much taste of its own, just umami rich sauce which is really nice.

Made this up the other day and had to have it again today.

English muffin, fried egg, cheese, black pudding, bacon. + HP sauce.

This time I really shook it up and toasted the inside of one muffin and the outside of the other...
