The **Now Eating** Thread

Agreed why go to five burgers, when you can go get a proper burger for the same price. Do people really not have 30minutes.

I think you're missing the point of five guys. It's actually closer to McDonald's pricing than the 2 you listed - much closer if you want lots of toppings on your burger. And I would say much closer in quality to how those burgers look than it is to McD's.

how?

three brothers cheese burger £6.50 fries £2.50
five guys cheese burger £7.95 fries £2.95

so yeah you are absolutely right I don't get Five guys and why people are willing to pay such obscene money.

I actually thought Five Guys was more expensive than that tbh. I'd rate it far above McDonalds though I'd also go to a more indie burger place in a heart beat. Even though it's expanded so it is now technically a chain, Almost Famous in Manchester is awesome. Filthy Cow is also pretty pro.

For me, the best burger I've ever had is at Original Patty Men in Birmingham: http://originalpattymen.com/

Absolutely love the place, nice and simple environment, tasty craft beers and awesome burgers!

I think I might have to arrange a visit to a friend in brum...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :( I never went but heard good things.

Well, better that than I turn up wanting burgers some night :p

all this talk of burgers, just made smashed onion burgers, man they where good.

Nom nom. I was just talking about home made burgers actually. Planning on getting some decent quality mince from my local butcher to try a few experiments...

Had a steak deep fill fray bentos tonight. I don't know why these get such a bad press. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Crisp top pastry, soggier underneath that mixed with a meaty gravy, nice chunks of steak and thoroughly filling. Can't see a problem tbh.
