Cooked a chilli low and slow over coals with a smoker box on the new BBQ

Great meal with some good wine. It was served using a DVine machine which was interesting. Less than 50 quid for 3 courses, 3 good wines and coffee.

Haha, I did add them to my order because of the price difference but then thought better once I saw the calorie count

These are glorious. Crunchy bits then lovely flavourful soft fatty bits. Nom.

Not tried these yet. I love Vimto though. Also love the Jelly Belly brand.

Had a brooklyn calzone tonight. Absolutely delicious. its a dark restaurant too, don’t normally trust them, but these guys are bang on the money.

A dark restaurant is one that doesn’t have its own premises, it rents the kitchen off of the main restaurant, works from a unit or even from their home kitchen.

this place works from a cafe. The cafe cleans up and shuts at 4:30 then the dark restaurant staff turn up and start. Cheaper outlay for them and a nice bit of extra rent for the cafe owners. Eveyones a winner

I actually got the terminology wrong, it’s a dark kitchen, not restaurant

Dark kitchens are a godsend for late night ordering but they’re never a patch on the restaurant itself imo. Got two warehouses full of them next to me and the food is never that great.

That reminds me. I must try to find a good enough fake bacon. lol at garnish on a (gentrified) full english.

Not possible, i've tried a few and whilst some taste "ok", they aren't bacon. They more have an overly strong jerky like taste to me.

We got some bavette steak in today, one of them was apparently A5 wagyu hiding amongst the normal Angus.

Tried a little, was incredible.
