The **Now Eating** Thread

Black pudding or Christmas stuffing?
Not to come across wrong/put a downer on anything... But interested to see how this effects other peoples mindsets...

I love meat but do feel guilty more and more these days, love BP/CP but... As soon as I found out BP is literally loads of blood, it made me majorly be anti it/feel blurgh, like when you find out what baloney/sausages are made of - I eat sausages now and again but never buy them, but BP is in that BLURGH/rank category kidneys/liver is... Dunno just majorly messed with my head.

I guess you could say ignorance was bliss beforehand.

I went through a stage of eating either liver or kidneys in pies, but it never set right with me, nor did the smell, and it was just weird thinking this all depends on what they've eaten etc, just weird man.

I proper love animals and it does haunt me whenever enjoying any meat, I will never deny it's lush taste wise/primal, but it is weird as an advanced species knowing what it is/the harm caused/bred to kill factor, I have a mate that's vegan and even he won't deny the nice taste of meat, IMHO it's the internet that makes them out to be bad people, he summed it up perfectly "I love animals so I'm just doing my bit" and he's gone full clothing/anything he owns spec. I respect that.

It often messes with me when I see something in a shop/fridge/freezer and think "that's literally somethings leg etc"... Anyone else get that weirded out factor...

Recently my mums neighbour had these really cute/sweet baby lambs they'd saved from slaughter in their garden, and we ended up having lamb the week after, really messed with me and I genuinely didn't feel good about it when it came to the family roast...

When I was a kid my dad brought home shot pheasants pre de-feathering etc, and I just refused to eat them, just felt wrong even as a kid... Maybe that's stuck with me, I feel like the more in general nature/pet videos I watch of them just being cute/sweet/in general, it bothers me as a meat eater, I felt really close to my cat that recently died, and I know you can have that connection with any pet/animal be it at home/in the wild, so I dunno, just felt like asking people what you thought/if it makes you a bit hesitant on buying stuff/messes with you?

I really enjoyed Clarkson's Farm, till I saw how they basically coax a cow into a metal frame it can't escape from and rape it... NOT cool with that. Nor when I saw how 'free range' just means they let them out in daylight for an hour a day, and don't at all provide and wider spaces to be cramped in etc...

Genuinely wondering what other people think? I love my meat but it makes me feel really bad often, I did keto for over a year and felt major guilt with that for example... As it was all for my gain...

Not trying to be a dick/give it the poor me/critacise anyone, but it really is increasinly bothering me, I really love animals/wildlife. I feel really selfish/bad about what I'm doing more and more.

Animals have that beautiful innocence that a child possesses, and I don't think that should be glossed over/taken for granted, as they're not trying to harm anyone. I will again mention I do LOVE and eat meat, but this is making me feel worse and worse, these last 3 years, especially since those baby lambs, knowing some **** would just kill em because they werent good enough to be eaten - literally hence being saved/adopted by my mums neighbour... That is ******.

Isn't it just made all of blood I thought? Seems very messed up?

I mean life is pretty messed up when you think about it. We're sat on a big ball* of rock falling through space. What's that all about? How did it all start? Is this all there is? Is there more? Is it all a dream?

Yeah I get that, but just 'growing' animals fencing them off for profit/greed/murder, is very ******, I can't even deny that and I love meat. SO bad man :(
We enjoy SO many foods without even realising they're already vegan with zero 'prep/effort' so I fully get why my mate does it. And proper respect him, **** he even forced me to goto BK on my bday his treat, I said nah I'll go elsewhere, he said no, I said ok I'll have what you have, he said don't be stupid, as he doesn't force anything, later that eve at his flat he even wanted me to cook meat based stuff at his, which I was really against morality wise, he was like don't be silly my concious is clean, I'm not making you do anything.
He's a proper unbiased babe like that.

If I wasn't stupidly tall 6ft8, I'd fully convert to vegan I reckon, but I really don't get on with carbs, and makes my skin really bad/spotty, hungry all the time etc etc, funny thing HE even recommended keto to me as did it before - I mean talk about THE most UNBIASED vegan ever, no?

But yeah being so tall, I literally cannot get size 15/16 shoes in vegan etc etc, and IF I did it, I'd feel really bad not being 110% committed, as my mindset is all or nothing and stuff haunts me, you know?

I do feel really bad though to refuse a family roast at the same time, like I'm insulting my mother/saying it's digusting/etc etc, that majorly effected me when I did keto for example, it's like spitting in her face saying no this is wrong/disgusting/what are you thinking, just a shame I can't have a carb diet that doesn't leave me spinning out/empty all the time and allows me to eat a family roast/special occasion random on the spot meal with friends, vs keto being 0 cheat meals allowed or literally kicks you out of ketosis/**** lava and takes you 5-12 days to be back into keto again/causes headaches etc etc :( sigh.

Anyway wasn't trying to guilt trip anyone I love the taste of meat, but the look of it cooked/not and morality is ever increasingly bothering me, and just wondered what people think?

Nope, I love meat and black pud. Dont feel weirded out in the slightest. I eat meat every day pretty much without fail.
Did you grow up around animals though? Or you a city boy?

My now vegan mate was a son of a butcher, so that must have been really messed up and given him major guilt over the years for the sheer murder for profit, and he enjoyed the food, so double messed up, so I get it.

Love how he's so unbiased/doesn't force it though as I've mentioned above. I BET not many people know a vegan that'd take you for BK/make you cook meat in their flat/oven on your bday as they don't judge/show bias. Love him like a brother.

City boy but I’ve always had pets. Dad had a meat stall that I helped on so we always had good meat to eat and I used to go with him to Smithfield which was full of carcasses . Probably desensitised me.

It's interesting how it can go either way isn't it, my mate never ever ever growing up or adult life mentioned and issue, then later on it made perfect sense without him even saying it.
My family grew produce/plants for the entire village, so I get the graft involved in providing for your family, but yeah it is still wrong meat wise, I just think it's so bad even with a 'field', I love it when I see cows for example just wandering about the cliffs down here free, why shouldn't they, know what I mean. They're literally just living their life?
But yeah the aforementioned clip on Clarkson's Farm of the cow rape bit etc really did not sit well for me, I knew about it, but seeing it, just nah, not having that. Neither did my mum's neighbours innocent cute asf lil baby lambs, to think some scumbag was going to murder them cause they weren't male and suitable to murder for profit, madness, why not just at least let them live naturally somewher at an animal place if it can't be the wild. That genuinely does really anger me! Sure you'd agree? That's SO bad man.

Another one that messes with me, is eating something like ribs/KFC bucket, I love it, but I'm thinking deboning stuff, this IS somethings limbs etc, especially with gristle, I mean at that point you're just pretending it isn't for your own gain. Very messed up and selfish.

I think personally the internet ruins vegans, especially it would seem the americans/meme culture, like my mate said, most of those dicks have been thinned out now and legit vegans don't push their views/aren't like that. As he said 'I'm just doing my bit, you do what you want but my concious is clean." I love the mutal respect there with zero push/influence.

I'll repeat what I said for late come'er's, this isn't trolling/pushing, just wanted to know if it ***** with anyone else? As it does me, and why hide it.

If there is an egg under those beans I can provide a clean passport and a boat leaving from Littlehampton in 4 hours for a new life away from any danger

Edit: First to use a Christmas smiley :D:confused::cool::eek::(:o:rolleyes::p;)
Unfortunately no fried eggs left  and the scrambled looked like like rubber chippings so had an extra hash brown :D

Great idea for a new game / trigger post "what's under my beans?"

:cry::eek:
