The local chinese is shut for their new year, so thought I'd have a crack at a typical takeaway dish for the first time.

This is fried panko-breaded king prawns - with a Blue Dragon sweet chilli & garlic sauce, plus (fantastic) rice from the rice cooker.

Thanks! Yeah they came out good.

I think if I did this again, it needs a lil' bit of MSG to get that authentic takeaway taste. And also I'd probably use chicken breast instead of prawns, though they were nice.

Can recommend those Blue Dragon sauces though, got a small pack for only 75p which was a game changer.

Homemade pizza with pepperoni, onion, capers and mozzarella made using Waitrose Pizza Mix with semolina. Very easy (just need to wait for the dough to rise) and tasted pretty much like a dominos. I should have cooked it for a couple of mins more.

Looks ok maybe a lil bit overcooked for my tastes but if you like it crispy then go for it

It was thin and crispy as the god of pizza intended.

Actually I'm wondering whether the lighting/colour may be a tiny bit off in the picture, as it does look more done on screen that it did when I was eating it.
