The **Now Eating** Thread

With the previous talk of meat I just had American style hanger steak and chips at the football club for lunch :) So good!

Treated my mum to lunch at the Waterside Inn today, seeing as I'm off work on holiday right now :)

Starter was warm salad of shredded duck confit, with mango and chilli, spring onions, toasted peanuts and oriental dressing. First time having this. Really liked it. The duck was so tender and lovely :)

Main was chinese style braised beef, with star anise, soy and steamed bok choi, with basmati rice. First time having this as well. Really nice, though I didn't like the taste of the bok choi. Not as good as the pulled pork or the lamb tagine, but still enjoyable enough.

Dessert was the mascarpone and vanilla panna cotta, with shortbread. My mum had this also. My mum made a comment to me just after it was delivered to the table that there wasn't much shortbread. Dunno if its a co-incidance or not, but about a minute later a friendly waitress appeared and gave us an additonal little plate of shortbread (about 8 to 10 pieces) to have with it, saying "heres some more shortbread for you, since theres not much on there" Nice gesture to do that, whether she heard my mum or not. The shortbread was heaven and the panna cotta was creamy and yummy! :D

*yawns* I feel like I need a nap now. Dont think I'll need to eat anything else today either.
