The **Now Eating** Thread

Looks good...especially for lazy food :)

I made a fairly traditional chili with ox cheek but forgot to get any beans...heyho. Served on rice with raw red pepper, jalapeños, feta and sour cream. Total mish mash but turned out pretty damn delicious.

Having this again, it's fast becoming my quick and lazy meal of choice when I can't be bothered to take time to properly cook

IMG_20160526_185828_zpsk4guwrzu.jpg

got a recipe for that (can guess the ingredients but the broth is more what I'm curious about)

The broth is a total cheat, but to me tastes fine with all the other ingredients. Just Marigold Swiss Vegetable Bouillon and some Wurze liquid seasoning. As I say lazy cheat meal that's really not cooking :)

So, the bouillon made up with water, Wurze, rice noodles, spring onions, lettuce, cucumber and a nice piece of hot smoked salmon (I usually go for a chili or piri piri one for a bit of kick). Depending on the season I sometimes sub finely julienned leeks for the spring onion.

Finally got round to breakfast.
Pork chop, broccoli and peanut butter.
Anyone found a better way or a proper tool to cook the fat first, as to get it nice it needs at least an extra 5mins compared to rest of meat. Best wy I've found so far, but only works with one chop/steak.

Mum did us stuffed pork loins with breadcrumbs, lemon, mushrooms, thyme, sage and parsley, wrapped in bacon. Was tasty as anything. Looks like crocodile haha

Burger.

And relax.

On way home last night, stopped at a Chinese and got something called Mongolian beef with soy sauce.
Damn it was amazing would live to replicate it at home.

Initial taste was very much standard brisket ale stew. But then morphed more Chinese some umami, maybe black bean, but sauce had no solids just liquid. And then obviously soy sauce.
Meat was shredded then I assume put back in a very hot oven and all fat etc went crispy.

Never had anything like it before, but I won't more.
And for a change not overly sweet, like most Chinese stuff.

Had it been any other day, my mate and I would have been tempted on that 32oz challenge. I reckon I could handle it :o

lol I can handle a 16oz without any issues so I'm confident about a 32oz. I do enjoy a good steak from time to time and whilst this wasn't Hawksmoor, it was quite good!

Tried to finish this behemoth last Thursday. "Only" managed around 2/3 + all the fries.

What is contained within it is:

Two flame-grilled 12oz beef burgers
Southern fried chicken fillet
BBQ pulled pork
Cheese slices
Crispy bacon
Double portion of skinny fries!

It did have onion but I removed that. Although it looks kinda dry in the picture it wasn't and was pretty tasty. Going back for round 2 tomorrow :D

You should leave the fries till last. Just cheap potato and the starchiness slows down eating ability. I also see no sauce with the fries. Sauce is a must when eating dry potato.

i've watched enough man vs food to know you've got to switch it up around half way through by slavering whatever you're eating in hot sauce :)

that thing does look beastly though!
