Liver and bacon with onion gravy from the Hairy Dieters Eat for Life book. Added a pinch of paprika because I like paprika with liver. Was very tasty. Served with boiled tatties and steamed curly kale.

Probably lower kcal than you might think. Kale though delicious is essentially free on that front. That's not a crazy amount of potato either. I imagine it was very filling (and delicious) though.

It was a bigger portion than in the book but I was using liver from the freezer so I adjusted the quantities correspondingly. All-in-all it came in at just under 650 kcal. Takes me to 1600 for the day so still well under my limit. FT is correct - very filling and delicious.

Was on holiday for a week, so here come the pics.

Started off with a very poor meal at 21:30 in a Chiquitos..

I got fresh bread delivered by my Airbnb host so breakfast was sorted

Had to go to the pub on day one, but it was quite a poor meal. Who makes shortcrust pastry for a pie like it is unsweetened shortbread!?

Then the day before I had been to the deli in town so I had a feast to last me the rest of the week

Mixed in with some grilled cheese sandwhiches

Then I rounded the week off with a visit to one of Derbyshire's Michellin starred restaurantes for lunch.

That is quite possibly the worst pie and chips I have ever seen.

My tesco pie and chips looks a million times better than that. It looks barely cooked.
