The numbers are in... (MW3, Skyrim)

Stats by monetary value is always iffy in my books. The real deal should be on the number of units sold.
There's no indication of MW3 from what I can see.

Nevertheless its all good for the gaming industry.

I like how I got shouted down for my comments about the beta... and suprise suprise release is exactly like I said it would be :(

Code:
urrent Players	Peak Today Game

207,984	226,089 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
48,112	68,739 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer
39,341	65,351 Counter-Strike

i bet even on consoles everyone has forgoten about mw3 lol..

my stepson stopped playing it after 2 days and my son played it for about an hour and never touched it again

Indeed. Especially as Call of Duty games always seem to be sold at a premium over others.

Skyrim is probably the best selling rpg ever surely? that's very very impressive sales for a rpg game or any game for that matter.

I think Witcher 2 sold 2-3 million or more too.

I was thinking the same. MW games always release at quite a high price compared to other games and I suspect that's where the "lead" has come from. As some one else said they should count by the number of units sold rather than the amount taken in.

It's quite surprising that Skyrim has sold so well and quite a good thing too I think. Are these PC numbers or console and PC?

Digital distribution is never shown, so thats only physical distribution.

As you can see, it would much higher if Steam had a public policy on it.

That's true, Skyrim is listed higher on Steam's top sellers, if that's representitive of all digital purchases I'd say it beats MW3 easily. But they'd never let that be known.

pretty much everyone i know are talking about and playing skyrim. Whereas i dont know anyone whos playing MW3

seems like while MW3 sold well, no ones actually playing it

But that's all that counts.. they made something... people bought it... they made a profit. Fab. (Hopefully you don't think that's all that matter's to me, the end recipient).

Did not expect that for MW3, I've got 6 hours online play time and I'm already bored of it. I can safely say I won't be buying the CoD coming out next year. BF3 is a much more enjoyable game, probably because I haven't played it for 5 years...

Yeah strangely enough I don't know anyone (other than myself) thats actually playing it out of the people that normally would... however they aren't playing BF3 either (after about a week) they are all playing skyrim atm :S however during peak time last time I looked player numbers in MW3 were well over 100K simultaneous users.

It does seem like 3/4 of my friends list were playing Skyrim on release day and theres still a significant number even now. But MW3 gets 1 or 2 people at the most at a time.

Just seems like people buy it and never play it. I do that with sub £5 steam sale games, I don't waste £35-40 on a game I'll never play.
